And he’ll be just about as successful in Miami as the last former Cowboys Head Coach who went to Miami.
Lots of Parcells hate around here.
Not surprising, most on FR are Cowboys or Patriots fans.
Without Bill Belichick, Parcells has been an utter failure wherever he goes.
It sounds as though he's rooting against the Patriots...
If anyone can resurrect the Dolphins, its Parcells.
I’m frankly amazed at the level of disrespect being shown by some posters towards him. All he’s done is win multiple Super Bowls, and rebuilt several languishing teams in both Conferences.
Not me.
I’m a long-suffering Detroit Lions fan. I’ve rooted for them since the days when Gary Danielson was taking snaps and handing off to Dexter Bussey, then Billy Sims.
That recent loss to the Cowboys tore out a lot of hearts in Motown, but I prefer to look at it as a long-term character builder.
They are headed in the right direction, putting the pieces together. I am patient.
As for Tuna and the ‘Fins, the same will happen. They’ll be around 10-6 two years from now, maybe three.
You don’t have to be a fan of any particular team to be a Parcells hater. He’s a scumsucker. Any coach that would negotiate with another team while his team is prepping for a Superbowl is a vile waste of flesh who should have been run out of the league.
And tank it in the Superbowl, while negotiating for another job in violation of league rules, and then not even bother to fly back with his team after the game. He’s a pig who can’t even spell loyalty.
A legend in football coming in to turn around a struggling team. It’s like Vince Lombardi coming to Washington in 1969 except Parcells won’t have to stand on the sidelines during rainstorms and blizzards nor even travel with the team. :-)
Obviously you lack objectivity, and sorry asserting he ‘tanked’ a game is absurd.
There’s nothing to be objective about, he’s the scum of the earth. And it’s obvious Parcells tanked that Superbowl, there’s not enough time to negotiate a new job and properly plan your Superbowl game, we know Parcells was negotiating with the Jets therefore... Anyway Belichick’s book outlines how little Parcells was around during the SB prep, he confirmed what we already know. Parcells tanked it. And with good reason, he’d spent that entire season complaining abut the players he was given, if he’d won the game it would have proven all his whining was just ego, the CW is that great coaches can get to the SB with bad teams but you need a good team to actually win. So he tanked, while getting another job. What’s absurd is defending the SOB.
‘Theres nothing to be objective about, hes the scum of the earth’
Whatever.
Way to mount a stunning defense. You wondered why people were saying bad things about him, I explained it to you, not my fault you didn’t like the information.
‘Theres nothing to be objective about, hes the scum of the earth’
I don’t feel the need to ‘mount a defense’ when confronted by something so ridiculous as calling the man ‘the scum of the earth’.
Thats so far over the top it doesn’t warrant a ‘defense’.
With Parcells that’s not even in sight of the top, forget over the top. Come on this is the guy that’s demonstrably the least loyal non-player in the history of sports, he bails on teams in mid-contract, he bailed on his team when they were preparing for a shot at a championship, and yet he has the audacity to demand there be a loyalty clause for the OWNER?! Even Bill Clinton wouldn’t go that far.
