The article does mention her wrist injury. One has to wonder if she is in fact well enough yet to want to play in a tourney and of course she might have academic responsibilities she wants to meet. It is not clear for the article whether or not she sought an exemption.

she wasn't ready for professional golf.

Michelle Wie was not and is still not even ready for the LPGA and has no business trying to compete with the men at this stage in her career.

That’s not to say that she doesn’t have talent, but her talent is yet to be proven among the best women golfers in the world - she’s yet to even win a on the LPGA tour – she’s not even an LPGA member.

She can sure smack the ball a long way but she doesn’t understand course management and she falls apart when things don’t go her way; she’s a Prima Donna and given to temper tantrums as I’ve witnessed personally.

I saw her in person the last three years when volunteering as a course marshal at the LPGA championships in Maryland and off the tee, while she was often impressive on her drives she seems to fall apart afterward. But she sure traveled with a big entourage including her dad, who kept her far away from the gallery and was constantly coaching and yelling at her from the sidelines. She impressed me as being very cold and arrogant and having a sense of entitlement that far exceeded her current abilities. I think her father is a big part of blame for her blow up. I think he pushed her too hard before she was ready.

Annika Sorenstam paid her dues on the LPGA tour for many years and dominated there long before she even considered trying to play with the men and even given her great talent, she still fell short trying to play with the boys in the PGA.

That’s not to say I don’t think some of the women golfers play as hard and as good as some of the men, but Michelle isn’t ready. There are some other young women in the LPGA who have more talent and game than Wie like Morgan Pressel.

Discrimination! A woman should not be barred from playing golf on account of factors such as an inconvenient name. Sony should be ashamed of their ruthless hatred of the Wii.

/sarcasm, idiotic sleepy mock rant.

She should win something on the LPGA first (or at least make a cut!) before she tries playing with the big boys.
