An undercover Robbinsdale police officer involved in a June road-rage incident was indicted today in Anoka County District Court on a charge of making terroristic threats. Landen Beard was shot in the leg during the June 7 rolling dispute on a Coon Rapids side street. The other man involved, Martin Treptow, 35, was charged Wednesday with drive-by shooting, reckless discharge of a firearm and making terroristic threats. At the time, Beard was in one vehicle; in the other were Martin and Rebecca Treptow and their two children. What is known is that a horn-honking shouting match broke out between the Treptows and Beard near a Coon Rapids strip mall. Martin Treptow, a former security guard who is licensed to carry a handgun, eventually pulled out his weapon and fired from the driver's seat, over his wife and into Beard's car, hitting Beard in the leg.

Were there any witnesses that were not involved?
I took an alleged cop to court for that VERY thing one time. I won. he lost.
you shot an “undercover” raging cop?
the civilian was charged the day before...

this’ll be interesting...wonder how a Robbinsdale cop can claim to be
working in Coon Rapids —not exactly nearby.
Read the other post!
nah, he’ll move to another state and be a cop there.
MN has more “stringent” requirements than most states to be a law dog.
None of them said anything about Beard identifying himself as a police officer:
No, I didn’t shoot him, I took him to court. He cut me off, from the right lane, speeding way over the speed limit (just so he could make a left turn lane) blowing his horn.
When I hit my horn and didn’t slow down it pissed him off. All I saw was a guy in a white car and a passenger.
At the light he jumped out and started screaming at me and ran to my car. He slammed his fist into my window.
I remained in my car for two reasons... 1) I had a broken arm and was in a cast, and 2) I was in uniform and didn’t want to beat the crap out of him publicly :)
I told him to get in his car and move along and he started screaming “I’m a COP you M***** F*****!
When I said “Show me a badge” he told me he didn’t need to “show you $h!+”
He finally left when the light changed and went to the police station and reported the incident, provided his license plate number and then they made ME drive to HIS home city (20 miles to the north) and IDENTIFY him for his “Sergeant” on HIS home territory. I got stopped three more times by his city cops on the way back out of the city. Each one of them hassled me, and threatened me with a ticket if they saw me “do anything wrong” and one said “I’ll arrest your ass just for being here if I see you again Boy”.
I ID’d the guy from pictures on the wall and the charges ended up being assault, intimidation and something else. He was eventually suspended from his job without pay for six months by the judge in my city and fined heavily. I don’t know whether he actually “didn’t work” in his home city but the fine was hefty.
He sounds like a real “public servant”.
geez...
Beard indicted
The attourneys are from Dorsey and Whitney and do they look sharp. The press conference was with the two lawyers.
According to them:
Landon was on duty at the time.
He went on the shoulder of the road to get around some traffic.
They are going to demand a jury trial
When a reporter asked about an eye witness account of Landon screaming "I am going to fucking kill you", the lawyer dismissed eye witness accounts as very unreliable.
Landon "pulled" his weapon in self defense
When asked if or when Landon identified himself as a officer there was a vague statement about it happening near the end (it was really smooth). The follow up question was "Can you be more specific?". The lawyer said "Thank you for your time" and walked away.
