I can’t help but imagine how many times on New Year’s day when it is 4 degrees outsideand snow is three feet deep in the driveway that some man in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, N.D. etc. turned on the Rose Bowl where it is 78 degrees, sun is shining and turned to his wife and said: “Myrtle, that’s it. This year we are movin to California, just like those Dodger’s did last year!”

This year we are movin to California, just like those Dodgers did last year! That's basically why Pasadena exists...it was the Indiana Colony of California - which in turn probably contributes to why the Tournament of Roses Committee chose to invite the Big-10 to its exhibition game..
