There are two places you can view the new trailer:
From the official website or this alternate site.
There's also a YouTube version.
TOPICS: TV/Movies
KEYWORDS: batman; joker; thedarkknight
This movie looks fantastic! Here are some screencaps:

Heath Ledger looks unrecognizably terrifying as the Joker.

Also, here is Maggie Gyllenhaal, replacing Katie Holmes as Bruce's love interest, Rachel Dawes.

Looking up with surprise at Bruce Wayne is Aaron Eckhart as D.A. Harvey Dent, who ends up becoming Two-Face. Strange that he's not really mentioned in the trailer, as he's supposed to play a pretty big role in the movie.

It looks like they tried to make Maggie Gyllenhall look as much like Katie Holmes as possible.

Uh, what’s Batman doing to that guy in the recliner in the first pic?

Seems like one to rent... Don’t think I’d put up with the stupidness of the local theaters to go watch a movie I’ve pretty much already seen done really well before. Perhaps word of mouth might change my mind, but the original hit the chord perfectly.

Most pics I’ve seen show a similar wardrobe.
While bothered by the continuity somewhat, Gyllenhaal is a heck of an improvement.

Ehh...maybe a little bit. Personally, when I look at him, I see the look as being more fashioned from a circus clown than anything. I think he looks like a really deranged, twisted clown.

Eric Roberts is playing mob boss Maroni who will be throwing the acid into Dent’s face creating Two-Face. Probably near the end or latter half of the movie.
It would be silly to do it early before they’ve established his character.
The theme of the film is the “mob strikes back” at Batman and Gotham.
If you look at Bale’s Imdb Bio, there are some animated features he did called Batman: Gotham Knight.

The Dent/Two-Face aspect is based on "The Long Halloween," which showed Dent having a tragic downfall, then his transformation into Two-Face was part of the climax, which set him up as a villain to come ("Dark Victory.") I'd say it's a safe bet that's what we're going to see in "The Dark Knight". I'd love to see the psychological effect losing a close ally like that has on Bruce.

That's an animated movie they're working on that will be a straight-to-DVD release. I think I read that it'll be a gritty, PG-13 rated picture, that will sort of work as a bridge between the two movies (but not so much that it'll be vital to see).

Oooh, I *loved* “The Long Halloween,” especially in the context of “Year One” and such. As for Bale doing an animated Batman, I *might* be able to forgive them for not using Kevin Conroy as long as the story works...

I love TLH, too, but would you believe a comic book store not having "Dark Victory" anywhere? That's the next one on my wish list...but I went to a store today and they didn't have it.

LOL, okay. Bale is my definitive Batman, but Conroy's voice work comes in a VERY close second.
