Coroner: 4 Construction Workers Found Dead in Ohio Apartment Were Beaten, Stabbed in Heart

CINCINNATI — Four men whose bodies were found in a suburban apartment appeared to have been beaten then methodically stabbed in the heart, a coroner said Monday.

Hamilton County Coroner O'dell Owens said two of the men were related and all four were from the same town in Mexico, but he declined to release their names and said he did not know the name of the town.

"There is some question about the quality of the identifications," Owens said, noting that no identification of any sort was found in the apartment in suburban Sharonville.

Only one wallet was found, and it contained $1,300 but no ID, Owens said.

"That's a lot of money to leave behind," he said. Receipts found in the apartment appeared to show that the men were sending money to relatives in Mexico. One receipt was for $2,500, Owens said.

Police found the bodies Thursday after an owner of a construction company, Abc Precision Masonry & Concrete, reported one of his usually reliable employees had not shown up for work in several days.

A minivan believed to be connected to the four workers was found Friday at a grocery store. A tip from a passing motorist led police to the van, about five miles from the apartment where the bodies were found, said Sharonville police Lt. John Cook.

The victims had been dead a week to nine days, Owens said. Toxicology test results would not be available for several days, he said.

The victims lived quietly in the apartment complex, sleeping on mattresses on the floor with little other furniture, Cook said.

This happened in Butler County and that falls under the jurisdiction of Sheriff Jones so believe me this is no “Sanctuary City” area.

Is it just me or do others think there is a lot of crime in Cincinnati, way out of proportion to its small population. I wonder why. Does the city have an ineffective (liberal) local government?

Regards,

C'mon! Construction? From Mexico? No ID's? Living in an apartment with no furniture? You're just talking crazy!

Actions have consequences. These people might be alive today had they stayed home. When your time’s up....it is indeed up.

Sharonville actually is in both Hamilton and Butler Counties - the murders occurred in Hamilton, right on the border with Blue Ash in a generally very prosperous area.

My mistake. The first time I saw this story I thought it happened at some apartments off of Cincinnati-Dayton Road, but I just checked the paper and you are correct.

It’s just you....

These murders weren’t in Cincinnati (which does have a very ineffective liberal government that is always tight up in fights with the generally very conservative county government).

Sharonville is about as Republican as you can get... This year was the first time in 36 years that anyone even bothered to run against the Republican nominee for Mayor.

All 4 ward members of council are Republicans, all ran uncontested. All 3 at large members are Republicans. Council president, law director, auditor, and treasurer were all uncontested republican wins.

There is not a single non-republican in city government. This is about as conservative as you get.

And it is generally a very well-run government, though not without problems, such as the whole fireman pay scandal of the past couple years.

And the city has a very wide range of socio-economic conditions, which is a challenge for anyone...
