I didn’t know he was sick, either! Prayers up for his family and friends.
From my wedding... I needed a song that could do double duty to speak to God’s love as well as ours. My best friend sang it. Well, in a manner of speaking... she was crying so hard all anyone could hear was her guitar.
Longer
Longer than there’ve been fishes in the ocean
Higher than any bird ever flew
Longer than there’ve been stars up in the heavens
I’ve been in love with you
Stronger than any mountain cathedral
Truer than any tree ever grew
Deeper than any forest primeval
I am in love with you
I’ll bring fire in the winters
You’ll send showers in the springs
We’ll fly through the falls and summers
With love on our wings
Through the years as the fire starts to mellow
Burning lines in the book of our lives
Though the binding cracks and the pages start to yellow
I’ll be in love with you
I’ll be in love with you
I am in love with you
That's all I need to know about this man.
I saw him when I was in high school. Accoustic concert. I love Twin Sons of Different Mothers. I did not know he was ill. Rest in Peace.

How sad. I just heard “Same Old Lang Syne” last night in the car. Great song.
This is a shock and I am grieving the loss for us all, and particularly his family. He blessed us with much beauty, and we will always miss him. My condolences and prayers.

Very sad: I clicked that YouTube and enjoyed it for a few minutes, remembering that he did something that is a blessing to his memory: he made beautiful and meaningful songs. Whether one is a big fan or not, in today’s world, it is worth noting with sorrow the loss of someone who tried to contribute beauty through his art.
Wow - sad news - always enjoyed his tunes - great lyrics, especially...
Go Down Easy
Linda lost a lover
In the early part of autumn
And she moved out to the country
Hoping all would be forgotten
The last time that I saw her
She was making sure the winter
Wouldn’t come through that old door frame
Where the door is
Several inches from the ground
The cold, hard ground
And it’s hard to go down easy
And it’s hard to keep from crying
And it’s hard to lose a lover in the early part of autumn
Well she learned to cook the meals
And she learned to start the fire
And she learned to make jewelry
Out of stones and precious metals
She sits down to the table
With her friends and several others
And she tries real hard to never be alone
And it’s hard to go down easy
And it’s hard to keep from crying
And it’s hard to lose a lover in the early part of autumn
Now the winter wind blows cold
Upon a fair and gentle soul
And she feels as if her time is passing easy
But her friends are sometimes lovers
Though they’ll always be another
She thinks about when nighttime lays on down
And it’s hard to go down easy
And it’s hard to keep from crying
And it’s hard to lose a lover in the early part of autumn
And it’s hard to go down easy
And it’s hard to keep from crying
And it’s hard to lose a lover in the early part of autumn
My good neighbor will be gone sooner than later from this horrible disease.
Just had my two tests last tuesday and the came back great thank god.
RIP Dan :(
I had heard he had prostate cancer.
I too, found his stuff to be a bit fey in the aggregate, that’s why his most uncharacteristic single, the hard-rocking “Language of Love” was my personal favorite.
RIP! Sorry to hear this.
As a racing fan, I must give a shout out to “Run for the Roses”. Which does get me every time.
RIP one of the best if not the best 70s soft rock station baladeers.
One of my favorites...Back in the day.
Thanks. That is a nice piece. Sorry he left so soon.
