Is there a standard procedure here for having a private conversation with a moderator?

I can see how folks get confused about clicking the "abuse" button when they just want to ask a simple question, or maybe they're just lonely and want to chat privately with a moderator, ask for some advice about their problems, etc.
So here is a suggestion for a new button under each message -

Mole? Are we talking Avogadro’s number, the four legged variety or Le Carré’s kind?
To: Uncle Ike
No, there are only two classes of Mods. Lead and unleaded. ;)

Or are we???? Muhahahaahaaahaaa (evil laughter)
You know, come to think of it, you can always holler “VOTE FOR HILLARY” really loud, I think you’d get plenty of attention from the Moderators then; including your fellow Freepers to be sure.

A new button..... LOL!!!
I would push it, then when the mods responded, I would reply back, “sorry, wrong button”.

“you can always holler VOTE FOR HILLARY really loud”
That comes under the ABUSE button clause.

” I think youd get plenty of attention from the Moderators then “
Now that you mention it, we haven’t had a good “play with a Troll” thread for a while —
Is it possible we’ve over-hunted them, and Trolls are now an endagered species??

Just be careful hitting the abuse button. I hit it once and the moderator proceeded to post my comments in the forum. Or at least the general idea of it.

Excellent idea HAL9000. Ever since you returned from your adventure in space a few years back, your ideas have been most helpful.
How thoughtful of you to volunteer your time to implement your brilliant new idea. [Private Chat With HAL9000]
We are most grateful. Thank you.

"Get Smart" on DVD
They are only sold right now (season 1) on those "call 1-800-xxx-yyyy" television ads.
Keep your eyes out for used copies showing up on amazon, but don't buy them until after I do.
