Dear FRiends
It really pains me to see some of those vicious anti-Mormons attacks we see on Free Republic disguised under the freedom of speech. Attacking people based on their Mormon faith is really disgusting and it is an insult to this great forum. People who do not like Governor Mitt Romney based on his positions are free to express their opinion as such, but people who attack him because he is a Mormom should be ashamed of themselves and must not be allowed to do so.
I greatly hope that Free Republic members and moderators will get together and help in stopping this anti-Mormon vitriol, this great Free Republic must not be tainted by these shameless acts.
ROTFL...you post a VANITY on Jim Robinson's site, that gets picked up by other forums, FR may well be featured on Bill O'Reilly AGAIN, Keith Olberman may make a big stink about this, and YOU DON'T WANT JIM ROBINSON TO BE BOTHERED BY THIS!!!!
AND then, after your big vanity post about someone ATTACKING someone, YOU threaten to ban ME?
Not at all, a question is not an attack. But when someone call the Mormons a “Cult” then this is an attack.
Would you feel better if we use ‘antithetical-to-Christianity religion called Mormonism’? Or do you just insist ALL religions be tolerated regardless of how antithetical?
What if it an opinion?
Is this your standard response to a request for civlity?
Definition of civility: derived from the Latin civis, or "citizen," and is also foreshadowed in the word civitas, or the art of government. It can mean, among other things, good breeding, politeness, consideration or courtesy, but may also refer to a "polite act of utterance".
Some of the causes of crude, rude and obnoxious behavior and total lack of respect for others: (a) unruly, shock value of TV; (b) want for attention; (c) anger; (d) lack of good breeding/training.
I'm willing to bet that those who will feign they've never seen the rude, disrespectful, obnoxious and many times out-right lies towards the Mormon faith posted on FR have never had the guts to say in the face of a Mormon the sewage they post on FR. It doesn't take courage to hide behind a keyboard when ridiculing and debasing another's faith.
I'm not particularly pro-Romney; however, I have to believe he must not have enough dirt in the way he lives his life so the attacks on his religion are the grasping of straws.
The truth is it's so easy to attack Mormons knowing the most they'll do to get even is bake you another batch of cookies. My grandmother was an anti-Mormon bigot for the majority of her life. She ranted with as much bile as I've seen on FR. She had Mormon neighbors who were the ones who came to her aid over and over in her declining years. I am forever grateful to those people who are Christlike whether others deem them Christians or not.
Have a lot to do, so I'm off this thread. Wishing you and all the FR crowd the best.
No, they really aren’t Christians. Their view is far different from traditional christianity. That doesn’t make the evil people by any means. They are among the finest people in the world but they are not Christians in the traditional sense.
greyfoxx39, as a lady and a proud member of the GOP and a Catholic, it HURTS and DISGUSTS even me to see the anti-Mormon unkind words on this site. A lot of these words are meant to hurt and smear. No one really wants to censor free speech, but as you know, responsibility goes hand-in-hand with it. I don't know the true motivation behind your anti-Mormon postings, but you know darn well that Mr. Romney (or anyone else for that fact) does not want to censor "the rest of the country," as you suggest. I don't know why you are so persistent in your anti-Mormon postings, but maybe it might be time for you to post some uplifting things that we all can be proud of.
The GOP was the party that freed the slaves, gave women the right to vote, and this country was founded on religious freedom. The types of anti-Mormon postings we have seen here go against that. It is fair to question, if it is done respectfully, turthfully, and fairly. May I suggest you lead the way on ceasing these anti-Mormon posts.
Thanks, silverlings. Truth is truth.
Read both the OT and the NT and see for yourself. You can’t smorgasbord His Word. I wouldn’t tell anyone they’re going to hell because I don’t know what God is doing in their lives. That’s between you and God, but you need to investigate for yourself what is really true.
But who is your Jesus? I think we part company on that one item. Jesus was not satan’s brother. He was the only begotten son of God himself, born of a virgin, died for us on the cross and rose again. Jesus can mean different things to different religious groups.
Which group --liberals, as in democrats, or conservatives-- tends to be self censoring when it comes to religion?
Do liberals tend to want to censure religion out of public life?
If there is currently a design to squelch exposure of Mormonism, would that work with liberals or mostly with conservative Christians?
After seeing the contention possible over the heretical things in Mormonism do you think the DNC machine and their media sycophancy will eschew exposing every heresy in Mormonism if they believe it will suppress the Conservative Christian vote?
Which candidate for the GOP nomination stands to gain the most if exposure of the heresies in Mormonism is squelch during the primaries?

AMEN, AMEN, AMEN. P.S. We’re looking more and more like DU.
ROFLOL!!!
So...the readers can know exactly what you are referring to...would you give examples?
Post them...so we can see exactly what you are referring to.
That is high praise, coming from you, FRiend.
:-)
And after you of course answer "no" -- I ask, what's the difference?
My business will serve anyone who is not breaking the law and has the money to pay. But based on your logic, I should vote for Hillary for President. Or some street bum with 20 bucks in his pocket.
Would you say that repeatedly calling a candidate a ‘self righteous bigot’ and ridiculing him for an overweight family is too ‘DUish’ for FreeRepublic? A quick search of your posting history reveals a rather nasty predilection for a Mitt Romney promoter like you, and you’re but one of many working at it daily at FR. Do you think that being so negative and hateful helps Romney or Freerepublic? Your talk is cheap.
