i would say Georgia belongs on that list, if they bring there A game...
It is a ridiculous there aren’t playoffs and championship game with the top 8 teams in college football.
There is plenty of time to do this in December, and the current college football rating system is a TOTAL JOKE - and that reflects poorly for all college football. Like LSU playing for the BCS championship with 2 losses. C’mon! How about Oklahoma with 2 losses? Oklahoma was without their starting QB unlike LSU in their triple overtime losses. Or undefeated Hawaii, what if they really are the #1 team in the country? You’ll never know it without playoffs and championship game. And that, my friends is a absolute sham. I’m finished with college football until they get their act together.
It’s been a lot more fun tracking the Dallas Cowboys this year than watching college analysts tying themselves in knots pontificating about what they think MIGHT happen with rankings and bowl games.
LSU and Georgia out of it = stupid.
Florida has a defense like a seive. They lost all but two starters from last year.
Who will handout the imaginary Trophies and who will receive them?
Now will the Bowl games be cancelled? Or will there be an imaginary playoff amoung only the winners of Bowls?
Do any of the teams that actually meet in Bowls meet in either of the imaginary playoffs...I haven't looked yet because if that happens and one of the imaginary losers beats the imaginary winner in the Bowl game that would distroy the imaginary playoff results.
Would that be real money or virtual money?
By the way, LSU is a 4.5 point favorite in real money Las Vegas. I don't know what the virtual money line is.
It wouldn’t destroy the results. This virtual play-off is mostly a popularity contest (although, one can argue that the rankings and putting LSUoosers and Ohio STinkers in the title game was based on popularity).
I hope LSU wins by 40 so that Ohio STinkers will beg to never be rated #1 again.
Because for the most part, no one cares about the lower tiers.
The major bowl games aren't championship games - they are exhibition games used to entice people to take winter vacations in warm cities. The Tournament of Roses parade is THE event, which culminates in an exhibition football game. Why would you expect the Tournament of Roses committee to give up their attraction they set up?
Who in Louisiana or Southern California wants to make trips to Columbus, and Ann Arbor in December or January? Likewise, to Omaha, Pittsburgh, Eugene, Seattle, Boise, Topeka, or Oklahoma City. Some...but not nearly as many as want to go the other way at that time of year.
The Rose Bowl doesn't belong to the NCAA. It belongs to the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Committee.
It'd be interesting to see that...and while we're in fantasy-land, they could do a home and home, and we could watch OSU's backups beat LSU in Columbus the following week where it'd be 50 degrees or more cooler than what the Louisiana folks are used to instead of 50 degrees warmer than the Ohio players are used to at that time of year.
Sheesh, bitter.
Ohio State is going to get pounded, just as they were in 2002, they have no chance, let’s not play the game. LSU will handle OSU like Miami did in ‘02
Many in ‘02 were saying OSU would be beaten by at least 28 points, sound familiar? To LSU I say, bring it on biotch
I had almost forgotten about that game--save for Willis McGahee's knee getting snapped backwards...that's uncomfortable to watch.
Go buy yourself a cake with that written on top, so you can eat your words.
Then what would we have to write about.
Remember nobody cares about college basketball until march.
And, wait until next year. NOTHING, short of injuries, will stop OU. They lose a total of 6-7 starters to graduation.
I do think Daniels would victimise LSU's overly aggressive cornerbacks all day (or night, as the case might be). Not that the game will occur, but if it does, bet the ''over''.
More likely is that OSU will handle LSU the way they did Florida last year...or have you so quickly forgotten?
Last year is the reason everyone’s talking down OSU this year. A consequence of recent poor performance.
