I've known some really nice pit bulls. This one, and it's owner, should be put down.

Not all pit bulls are overly aggressive, but some people are intentionally breeding ones with that trait.

The breed as a whole may not deserve the bad reputation is has, but there are a lot of dogs of that breed that have earned such a bad reputation.

In the U.S., an attack on a guide dog is a felony. If it happened here, the owner would be looking at serious time in a federal, pound-in-the-*ss prison. I know. I raise guide dogs for our local guide dog school. It’s a real shame if the guide dog is retired because of this. It costs $30-40K to raise and train one and the blind person becomes very dependent on the guide dog for mobility.

We also have a pit-bull mix of our own, in addition to the guide dog puppy we raise. They are playmates and the guide dog pup tires out the other dog very quickly. So it really is the owner who is the lowlife in this.

Heya Jeff.. I used to be afraid of pit bulls until I started volunteering at the MCSPCA.. The majority of dogs there are terrier mixes (pit bulls) and I absolutely love these dogs now. I have yet to come across one that is aggressive. I have, however, seen a trainer at the shelter have her top lip almost ripped off by a Lhasa.. It’s a history of abuse that makes a bad dog.. not the breed.

If this would have happened to my dog, this low-life would be scraping what’s left of his pitbull off the curb. I enjoy hunting pitbulls and have learned to dispatch them with a single blow....from my double barreled 410. Notice that there are none in my neighborhood....anymore.

If the owner objects, well I make him an offer that he can’t refuse......

Pit bulls are not necessarily violent dogs. But if an owner inbreeds or fails to feed or trains one to attack, then the dog’s violent nature is because of the human, not the dog.

Pit Bull Puppies are rarely vicious at birth. Occasionally one is born with a neurological dysfunction, but if bred for gentleness and brought up as a gentle dog, a Pit Bull makes a fine companion and a fine family dog.

I work in a Family run Kennel and we had a year old Pit Bull who had lived with the owner since he was 8 weeks old (and she had 10 other dogs, including a huge German Shepherd female). The Pit was adopted by a couple a few weeks ago. He is a very gentle dog. Not food aggressive. Great with children, cautious with cats. And he had a tenor bark (I said we neutered him too young and he turned into a tenor.)

Only this dog wasn't leashed. Take the Pit and sue the owner. And if the seeing eye dog can no longer work, the Pit's owner should have to pay for the replacement, as well as a fine for allowing his dog to run loose and for failing to stop the dog fight.

Yes, I'm an animal lover. I also loath dog owners who raise dogs to fight, as Michael Vick (former QB for Atl. Falcons) did. I'd have definitely given him more time in jail.

The last litter of pitbull puppies that I observed were spasming out and yelping like four legged retards on a white water trip, of course the bag they were tied up in was sinking pretty fast.
