Rhiannon Meier, vp Red Wagon Prods., and Sam Cassel, vp Scott Rudin Prods., were killed early Saturday morning in Hollywood when their car was hit by an alleged drunk driver.

The pair died instantly.

Jose Luis Vargas, the driver said to have caused the crash at Sunset Boulevard and Gower Street, was arrested for driving under the influence and booked on suspicion of murder.

Meier was named vp creative affairs at Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher's Red Wagon in June. She previously held posts at Blue Star Pictures, Catch 23, MGM and the Motion Picture Corporation of America.

Cassel had spent his entire career at Rudin's company.

Funeral details were not available.

It really doesn’t matter if the drunken sonuvabitch was a legal immigrant or not........ the LA area is a Sanctuary City — with a Mayor of Hispanic origin — so they won’t even ask as though it wasn’t important for anyone to know.....

Mexico, Central America and South America has sent us their human garbage — tasked with the mission to drag America down to their Turd World status.....

They are succeeding....

I’m afraid it has reached the point where only massive violence will get the Government’s attention and reverse the flow in the sewer lines leading into this country...

Doesn't matter, they have gone to be with Jesus...

Just curious, how do you know this?

It’s a sad situation worthy of melancholy whether they are PWM’s or not.

There is no immunity for intent in traffic offenses.

Intent is you are the driver. (US Army MP 1976-1978 Traffic Investigator)

I chose a civilian job by the way.

I’m NOT assuming the SOB was illegal. I simply would like to know one way or the other. I’d like to know whether this crime is yet another case of deaths caused by a criminal illegal who never should have been in LA to do this, or deaths caused by a criminal citizen or legal resident who did have the right to be in LA but most certainly did not have the right to be driving drunk at high speed through that red light.

Either way, it is a case of murder or manslaughter depending upon the details, but inquiring minds also want to know whether it is a result of our porous border and criminally incompetent immigration policies.

With a population of nearly 10 million people and 1/2 of them being Hispanic your guess is as good as mine.

Why is everyone assuming this guy was an illegal?

Jose Luis Vargas,...

THAT is the only excerpt to give credence to the assumption.

Kinda' jumping the gun a bit via media reporting by some isn't it?

Okay, but the real question should be..
Would this be any different if it’d been some big-name hollyweird actor/producer/etc. behind the wheel?

Paris Hilton?

I would hope so...its a saying that is better than I hope they aren't roasting in hell.

You can ask, as long as you also go over to this thread and ask about the immigration status of the Hispanic in that story. If all Hispanics are illegal immigrants, then all are, right?

Red Wagon Prods.

What a coincidence. I just turned on the tube a couple of hours ago, and saw the name and logo for Red Wagon.

Can't remember the name of the show, and whether it was starting or ending.

The name just struck me (differently from what struck the two unfortunates, though), as being interesting and different.

Depends on the DA, not the cop. The cop writes as he sees it.

"Why is everyone assuming this guy was an illegal?"

Purely based on his last name I'm sure...which for Cali makes no sense at all...

" Do you think Bush knows anyone who’s killed someone in a car crash?"

This statement is worthy of the DU.. NOT HERE!!!

No offense, I hope not either, but it's an assumption on your part that they're in Heaven..
.. if you don't know their spiritual state.

They might have been atheists or agnostics.....or any number of Hollywood sects.

Just commenting...
