My computer is connected to the internet via Linksys wireless. The computer I'm typing this on is the primary. Mine in the other room is the wireless.
Today I was working on the net and all web activity stopped. I tried to connect but got "Internet Explorer Cannot Display The Webpage." That happened repeatedly.
I did a warmboot. No good.
I did a complete shutdown. Nothing.
I deleted all temp internet files and did another warmboot. No good.
I even did a defrag just for good measure. No difference.
The device driver says the Linksys apparatus is working fine. The icon says the signal strength is good.
Any ideas?

Reset the Linksys router - make sure you have your login and account information written down as you'll need to enter it again after you reset it.
The reset button can be pressed using a paper clip. Consult your manual for exact procedure.
After you reset the router you'll need to re-enable the wireless encryption and generate a new key on the router. Once the router is reset and wireless encryption is set up, set up your wireless system with the new key you just generated.
My problem happened when I moved the router during a room redecoration.

Is your router issuing IP addresses for your network/workgroup? In other words, is DCHP enabled? If it was enabled & somehow became disabled you might not be able to get an IP address & therefore cannot connect to the internet.

I typically need to do that about once a month.
The web DNS servers were hacked today.In my case the DNS address for google was hacked.
It's now working.
I’d recycle the cable modem, then the router. Next, bring up a command window on your computer and type “ipconfig -release” and then “ipconfig -renew”. See if that fixes it before you take the dramatic step of resetting the router.
If you’ve changed nothing, and your other machines have internet, then I’d, first look to my firewall. Momentary loses of signals can trigger a “new network in range” and will have to be allowed in the firewall.
So, that would be the first thing I check. Second, I’d check my wireless connection to see if it was connected. You can have a full tank of signal, and not be connected to that wireless network.
I’d like to see a response to what the other posters suggested.
If you have changed nothing then chances are great that your ISP is having issues and there is nothing you can do but wait.
I had a similar problem with my wireless router last week. I updated the firmware on the wireless router and the connection problem went away.

I turned off the DSL modem and warm booted the primary computer. That allowed the router to properly reset the settings.
1) First find out where the problem is:
Chances are you have not changed the ip of your linksys so in internet explorer go to 192.168.1.1 If you get prompted for a username and password your wireless connection is fine. If you get nothing there is a problem with the wireless
2) If the wireless is fine
Log into the linksys device and check its network settings its different depending on what Linksys you’re running but the manual should show you how. Make sure the WAN connection has an IP
3) If the wireless is not fine. Restart the linksys, if you still can connect to 192.168.1.1 then get yourself a wire and connect directly up to the linksys. Go to 192.168.1.1 and log in. When youre in there follow the manual with the linksys to be sure wireless is enabled properly.
4) If the linksys itself cant get an IP on the wan cold stop and start everything (not really necessary to do everything but why mess around) Start up order: Cable modem, Linksys, Computers.
If this does not help ping me back to this thread..
Then reboot after it establishes a connection, it should reconnect itself after rebook.
At least for me it does.
