I just placed Ubuntu on my laptop little over a week ago (dual boot). I like it, but am not willing to give up XP yet due to software compatibility issues. Yes, I know about Wine, but not all Windows software will run on Linux. I’ll probably get a partition manager and expand my 7.5Gb Linux partition to make more use of it.

Computers are cheap enough now you can afford to keep a windows PC around until msoft goes away.
I really don’t need another PC when I can partition the hard drive I have and run both systems on one.
I do one better. I keep vmware on linux and run windows as an application to run the one or two apps I still need.
Linux ping
Dell never expanded their linux lime, they replaced the cheapest laptop with one that often costs more than the windows equivalent after discounts.
