Joes Gibbs should be fired! (Angry Vanity)
12/02/07 | self

Posted on 12/02/2007 1:24:31 PM PST by Clint N. Suhks

On the first game after Sean Taylor passes Joes Gibbs gets an Unsportsman Like Conduct penalty calling back to back time outs with 8 seconds left.

The Bills went from a 51 yard field goal attempt to win to a 36 yard gimmie from kicker phenom Lindell who has now 17 in a row FG streak.

Bills win 17-16.

I know Joe feels bad, I feel bad for him, but a head coach CAN’T make mistakes like that.

That sucked. I had Washington in a Suicide Pool, $1740 bucks. I was 1 of 4 still in the pool and this crap happens.

If he made such a mistake, that's pretty bad. I didn't see the game. Theoretically, anyone on the field can call a time out. Are we sure Gibbs is the one?

Illegal for Back to Back Time outs? Isn’t that icing the kicker?

You can only use one timeout in a row to ice a kicker.

Unsportsmanlike Conduct, 15 yard penalty.

I can’t believe it either. Wow. I think he will give up and get out soon.

The Novelty has worn off.

He should leave tomorrow.

You cannot call back to back timeouts when you are on defense.I watched the end of this game and could not believe Gibbs made such a mistake. You know the team was going to be in a very difficult situation mentally having to play this game today. The whole game comes down to the coach making a terrble mental error that probably cost the game.
The kicker did make the first 51 yard yarder as the first timeout was called and may have made the second. Giving him 15 yards to make it easier is just unbelievable...tough game, you got to feel for the Redskins, at least I do.

It probably didn’t change the outcome, Lindell was on all day and had just made the same kick flawlessly. I feel terrible for them. And for Gibbs. I am sure the last thing he wanted to do was add to the Redskin’s problems by causing them to lose confidence in his ability to coach them.

Well, if it was up to the media, Washington would have won. What a bunch of political correct sports reporting cr@p on the radio and tv. The sentiment was never about the game, but about good feelings of the team and their fans. Blah! I am so sick of the media that I just turn them off and tune them out.

I’m not a Skins fan, but at a time like this, you can’t help but feel a little sorry for them for losing like that. Gibbs really blew it.

Here's a hot toddy to calm you down.

You definitely need it after that bizzare loss.

Yeah...it was Joe. He said so in his presser but to be fair he said he asked the official if he could call another time out and was told yes.

As bad as that stupid move was, if the Skins had been able to put it in the end zone just once for one of those Field Goals they'd have won. They have had the same problem all season...I'm sick to death of the Redskins winning on paper and losing games!

Gibbs mistake was juvenile. I think he allowed himself to get carried away with the aura of emotionality surrounding the game. Frankly, I could have done without it. I’m a Skins fan, and I turned on the TV to watch a game, not attend a wake. If I were an extremely highy paid employee who worked in an office where someone was murdered, I’d be expected to do my job. The Redskins — and their coaches —are adults; they should have put it behind them and gotten on with the game. Too many histrionics.
