I’m pretty sure ESPN is allowed to be excerpted... so why not post some of the text of the article?

Barring any last-minute snags, LSU defensive coordinator Bo Pelini will be introduced as the new head coach at Nebraska early next week, multiple sources confirmed Friday.

Pelini will coach the Tigers defense Saturday in the SEC championship game against Tennessee and, according to a source close to the situation, will be in Lincoln for an announcement Monday.

When reached by The Associated Press, Nebraska interim athletic director Tom Osborne refused to comment on the situation.

“I have no comment one way or the other,” said Osborne.

Good pick. He has a long road to rebuild the team, but I think Bo will work out just fine.

This is only a rumor based on anonymous sources. It is not a fact until the parties involved make a public statement.

Pelini and Buffalo coach Turner Gill were believed to be Tom Osborne’s final two choices to replace fired Bill Callahan. Both have Nebraska ties — Gill as a former player under Osborne and coach under Frank Solich, and Pelini as a former defensice coordinator under Solich.

The move further complicates LSU’s postseason. Head coach Les Miles is expected to meet with Michigan Wolverines early next week about its head-coaching vacancy. LSU is making an effort to keep Miles, but he’s a Michigan alum who has often voiced his affection for the Wolverines program.

I’m happy for UB football. Gill will stay here in Buffalo and keep the program on track. We may find respectability under him. He has made a difference in recruiting players here already. We were actually tied for the East Div. in the MAC this year but lost tie-breakers.

Callahan was a train wreck, and most of us saw it coming. The people who ran the Nebraska program have trashed a once proud program.
If I were a Husker fan, I’d be concerned about LSU’s defensive failures this year, since Pelini is the man in charge of that.
I wish the Huskers well, college football seems a little out of whack without the Huskers in the top 20.

Go Buckeyes. :)

Are you nuts? Really..LSU defense failures? That is so absurd.

Yes, this is what all the rumor boards are saying as well. I sure hope so...we Huskers need some help! Another post has Miles taking the Michigan job...wow, that sure puts LSU in a world of hurt next year, eh?

Don’t get your panties in a bunch.

10/13 at #17 Kentucky L 43-37
10/20 #17 Auburn W 30-24
11/03 at #17 Alabama W 41-34
11/10 La Tech W 58-10
11/17 at Ole Miss W 41-24
11/23 Arkansas L 50-48

A little D would have won the Kentucky or the Arkansas game, and then you’d be in position for the NC game, instead of watching it. Giving up 34 to Alabama isn’t exactly shutting them down. 24 to Auburn almost resulted in another loss.
Geez, so touchy. I didn’t say LSU sucked, I said they’ve had defensive failures, especially when considering defense was supposed to be LSU’s strength, including their stud Glen Dorsey.

Darren McFadden rushed for three touchdowns and threw for another to lift Arkansas to a 50-48, three-overtime victory over the top-ranked Tigers on Friday.

Peyton Hillis also scored four TDs, the last in the third overtime. Felix Jones ran for the crucial two-point conversion to make it 50-42 for the Razorbacks (8-4, 4-4 Southeastern Conference).

* * *

McFadden, last year’s Heisman Trophy runner-up, rushed for 206 yards on 32 carries and now has 1,725 yards rushing this season, breaking the single-season record of 1,647 he set last year.

* * *

Hillis ran for 89 yards and Jones had 85 as Arkansas finished with a 385 yards on the ground against one of the best run defenses in the country.

So you’ve been chewing nails for about 10 years then.

I think Les Miles is capable of losing the big games, ala Jim Tressell’s favorite Carr.

Go Buckeyes.

Oh nevermind...I thought Defense Failures was a overstatement, especially comparing it to Nebraska Defense Failures.

You know, it’s amazing how Nick Saban has screwed not one, not two, but three teams in the span of two years.

Had he waited a year to leave the Dolphins, three things would have happened: 1) Les Miles could go freely to Michigan, because LSU would gladly take Nick Saban back; 2) Mike Shula wouldn’t have gotten the boot up the ass the way he did from Alabama; 3) the Dolphins could have a good shot at Bill Cowher, Marty Schottenheimer, or possibly Bill Parcells to fill their head coach vacancy. (I like Cam Cameron, but owner Wayne Huizenga loves his Ubercoaches.)
