ROTFLOL... I love it.
Lady, is your snow gone? Our temps have warmed up since yesterday, big thaw and now it’s raining. Snow is nearly all gone - makes it ugly and dirty looking out there.
Nope. We still have 10” of snow and it’s quite lovely still. We’re told we’ll have rain tonight. Unlike last night’s weatherman, this other one doesn’t seem to think it’s going to freeze afterwards so maybe we’ll lose some snow tonight.
Thanks!

GO FIGURE
“Sounds like a case of the flu. Lot of stuff going around these days.”
“Cute little Red Headed Nurse, says get well.”
Flu it may have been, but it took me for quite a ride. I just spent 19+ hours sleeping hard. Nan tells me I was sweating like crazy. After I signed off last time, I started coughing, hard enough to leave my ribs sore enough to make breathing less then fun! Between bouts of coughing and the occasional special moments with the white throne, I was thinking that being dead had to hurt less! I finally went to sleep, and from that moment on until I just woke up, I was out like a light. I’m tired, feeling like I was dragged through the knothole, but I can breathe, no coughing and likely on the mend. Nothing like a bout of flu to remind one of their mortality, or that they better get that book back to the library or owe another damn fine!
I should be up and about now, so expect me to hang around and be a plague on your houses!
;^)
Well, I just now signed back in, glad to hear from you. Sorry you’ve had a rough time. Sleep is a wonderful healing medicine.
Don’t over do now!
the day before, the day before
Christmas is a family treat
prepping for that special day
arriving on wings of time so fleet
the smells from the kitchen
the pies so tempting sweet
a tree to decorate with lights
that auntie ‘ll call neat
snow draped outdoors call for fun
a fireside to warm up by a treat
tobogganing and sledding down a hill
and dinner after is so neat
presents shared amid the laughs
makes a time for us so sweet
live it all and hold it close
for its a time that passes fleet
Lovely poem, filled with strong images, jousting memories to come forward to relive and laugh at times from yesterday, making new memories from today for tomorrow.
Yup, I am going tomorrow afternoon with family, we always do the Christmas Eve thing, they travel on Christmas Day to in laws and what have you.
and the FOOD!
Yupper, the food. I baked bar cookies yesterday, just now put into the oven sausage rolls. Hope to take one of them, and mayhap my famous cabbage salad. Everyone brings something different - we do a buffet.
My back is killing me, can’t lay down until that stuff comes out of the oven, lest I wander off to dream land. What I do is not much, however, my legs and feet are so swollen it’s painful to walk around. Ah, the Golden Years. Who said that??
The Golden Years are a royal PAIN!
I take a hot shower each night before I hit the bed, and slid into the bed warn and stay that way all night. The tight muscles loosen and stay that way when I wake. It helps me start the next day loose and easy.
That food sounds nice! What exactly are oven rolls? Are they like my aunt’s rolls where she rolls basically an Irish stew, into a light pastry shell, and bakes it. Each roll is a single serving of the stew, within the pastry roll up. She serves it on family get togethers with a light gravy topping, and their the rave of the meal.
Oh your aunts dish sounds yummy.
Well, this is a new recipe for me. I made two of them.
Needed is 1 roll of breakfast sausage
green pepper, chopped 1/2 cup
onions chopped
celery chopped
garlic chopped 2 cloves
fry the whole mess
drain, then cube up 6 ounces of cream cheese, toss that into the meat and veggie mix to melt. take off heat.
Needed two rolls of Cresent Roll dough
unroll it roll it into a 12 by 10 rectangle
patch up the grooved cuts
put the meat stuff in the middle
of the dough leaving room on the long and short sides to cut slices into the dough for braiding.
then bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes
Good bad or indifferent mine are done.
braiding? a roll?
How?
Well you now those cresent roll dough is pliable when in a dough form.
How do you ‘braid’ it with all the stuff inside not falling out?
cause you cut the dough into stripes then braid them. you leave the stuff in the middle but it does not move
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I see!
even I can see that now!
