Akins Accelerator bumpfire rifle stock is NOT dead.
November 29, 2007 | William Akins

Posted on 11/29/2007 3:07:32 PM PST by William Akins

Contrary to uninformed internet posts which reported that the Akins Accelerator Bumpfire rifle stock is "officially Dead", this is not correct.

Mr Bowers who was president and one of the directors of Akins Group Inc resigned as president. That is all. Mr Bowers did not solely comprise Akins Group Inc and his resignation does not terminate the corporation nor does it mean the efforts to rectify the BATFE 2006-02 ruling are "officially dead". Nothing could be further from the truth. I am the inventor, exclusive patent owner, chairman of the board and a director of Akins Group Inc which manufactured the Akins Accelerator.

Not only is Akins Group Inc still in existance as a corporation, but the battle to overturn the Federal law violating BATFE 2006-02 ruling continues. Nothing has changed other than a director has resigned and his position has been replaced. Upon his resignation, Mr Bowers no longer speaks for Akins Group Inc and any opinions he has posted online since his resignation are not the official position or opinions of the board of directors of Akins Group Inc.

Sincerely, William Akins.

It was http://www.firefaster.com/

Doesn't want to come up on my browser for some reason. A tracert command to their ip address of 65.181.136.60 dies on the 8th hop just inside the us.lightning.net network segment. There is a private ip inside that network's NAT of 192.168.1.204 that looks to be the "stuck" route.

By design or otherwise I can't tell from here. But they might wanna contact their hosting service and ask what's up...

ATF was one of the agencies Reagan wanted to dismantle.

Too bad he didn’t. My guess is Bush I dissuaded him.

now building a 10/22 tack driver. with a can.

Would love to take the old barrel and marry the action and barrel to one of these accelerators just for fun.

Hopefully beeayeteaeff will reverse, but not holding my breath on it.

Maybe, when this is all settled, if it fails the beeayateaeff, the plans will be posted on the net, so we can see how that stock works.

Not that anyone would make one illegally.
Just to look and learn yaknow...for informational purposes only.

Dear Copernicus.

Without my knowledge, Mr. Bowers shut down the Akins Group Inc corporate website just prior to his resignation from Akins Group Inc. Apparently Mr Bowers felt justified in doing so because the Akins Group Inc website was registered in his own name and the name of his privately owned corporation the Bowers Group of Companies which is not associated with Akins Group Inc in any way. See this below link that shows Mr Bowers as the registrant of the www.firefaster.com Akins Group Inc official website. Scroll down until you see “Whois Record” wherein in shows Mr Bowers of the Bowers Group of Companies.

Thanks for your inquiry.

There is, or used to be, a trigger-device called "hellfire" that allowed for rapid fire bursts.

The "hellfire" device was being used at the waco TX. compound and was erroneously identified as automatic weapons fire.

Yeah, that’s the name I remember.

I was watching Waco burn on CNN. Out of the flames there was an explosion and a fireball. The commentator said it was “explosives” the Davidians had stored in the compound. It turned out to be a propane tank they used for their gas appliances.

Thanks for your inquiry.

Mr Akins, as time and circumstance permit please keep us apprised of your progress.

Have you had an opportunity to compare notes with Ryan Horsley of Red's Trading Post in Idaho?

He is engaged in an aggressive campaign to challenge ATF abuses against his gunshop.

Dear Copernicus.

I have not yet had the pleasure of communicating with Mr Horsley. Thank you very much for the link to his site.

If I do not have enough time to see messages here or I miss responding, I hope it will be understood that I am extremely busy for the time being in the efforts of reorganizing the corporation which will be taking most of my time for the next few weeks, but will do my best to try and inform the public of any progress.

Thankfully, Mr. Akins has, per this thread, announced that all is well (or as well as can be expected given the circumstances) with the company and the case. There is hope that we will see the Akins Accellerator legal again soon.

Looks like the fight is over, BATFE won. Akins posted on the AR15.com thread that there will be no lawsuit or challenge to the ATF ruling.

Gack. Not surprised; small company with controversial product vs. huge gov’t agency with unlimited funds and is implicitly trusted by judges - who wins?

Do wish someone would take on 922(o) directly, rather than trying to follow a tangled path around it.
_Heller_ may do well in paving the way.

True, but remember that if 922(o) falls then you would be able to purchase and register a true full-auto 10/22 for less than the price of the AA.

Exactly. While I applaud Mr. Akins’ creativity in exploring the letter of the law, I would rather that the law be changed.
