I have two cassette tapes of Vin from old Dodger v Giants games in the 1990’s I listen to on sunny late winter days while longing for the return of the game.

This was a very nice post EveningStar. I’ve spent many an hour listening to Vin Scully play by play. Thanks for the links and rememberence. Kudos...

I’m no Bob Costas fan, but he used to do a very funny impersonation of a Japanese baseball broadcaster imitating Vin.

I work as a freelance technician for sports television here in Florida. Last March I had the pleasure of working a few Dodgers Spring Training games for KCAL. One game experienced a small rain delay and during the short pause in action, Mr. Scully was able to fill by weaving one great baseball story after another. The other techs and myself marvelled at how he was able to do that so naturally.

The man is an artist and a great communicator.

Happy Birthday Vin! May you have many more.

One of the great joys of listening to baseball over the internet is the radio broadcast. I love listening to Scully. Sadly we are losing many of these great announcer who are original radio announcers. Harwell has retired, we lost Joe Nuxhall and we can cherish Vin Scully. I hope we get to hear him for many years to come.
