Seriously who started this dumb thing about calling Presidential contenders with their first names only? Mainly Rudy, Fred, and Hillary
I think it is really cheapening the presidential race and I doubt that someone who will be called most of the time by his/her first name is going to become President.
Rudy has to go by Rudy because Giuliani sounds to ethnic.
Fred is just Fred.
And how can we forget Dubya?
Maybe not as many at one time, but it's not new.
I’d rather they write “Hillary”, because whenever I see “Clinton”, I first think of her husband.
And re your statement: “I think it is really cheapening the presidential race and I doubt that someone who will be called most of the time by his/her first name is going to become President.”
That’s good. Since we’ve never heard of anyone refer to my candidate as just “Duncan”, then maybe he has a chance!
Look at Thompson’s website. Fred08.com
Rudy’s website is
http://wwwJoinRudy2998.com
It is the Candidates that are using their first name!
And for some us hard to spell.
The profundity of your support to the Revolting Cat, (apt name) is only surpassed by the amount of thought it must of taken to come up with your forum name..hmm..386wt..is that your weight, your IQ divided by 0, or am I missing the whole picture..please enlighten me, and also are the posts at DU and Daily KOS getting slow...are you a TROLL...you must know what a troll is, don’t you...a troll is somebody with an IQ 30 points higher than yours...and we banish trolls here..because you have nothing intelligent to offer...other than that you are a troll, and it amuses us..please feel free to log off now and go back to DU...your being on this forum has brought our collective IQ down by at least 50%.
And in closing, HAVE A SMILEY FACED DAY!!
And for some of us hard to spell.
Why use Hillary when BJ Clinton’s baggage is more truthful?
There are still a few “I Like Ike” buttons around...
Its not just Hillary...its Hillary!
Actually to me she is “Mrs. Clinton”. You can add an exclamation point if you like.
When I was a young man, all through high school, the Navy and later on the job, men called each other by there last name only unless you were very friendly with the person, then you used his first name
Pretty much the same thing in the Army. Although, where I served, it was typical Military protocol, if you outranked someone then you could get away with last name only. If they outranked you, you’d best address them by their rank and last name or just rank.
Pushing away the earth was not one of my specialties. LOL
It is pretty dumb but considering that the print press in particular can’t demonstrate common courtsey to the current president, it just follows suit that first name basis for candidates would be common.
Good analysis.
I believe Tsongas is pronounced tax-on-gas...
Just refer to her as Mrs. Rodham-Clinton.
And you seem to have troll potential!
