Should "Dog" be cancelled?

I’m getting tired of political correctionists pushing their feel good agenda on the world. Grow a hide. Political correctionism is just a subtle branch of communism that lulls you in and slowly subverts you to liberalism (communism in disguise.)
All he has to do is go into some form of rehab, and all will be forgiven.

I normally don’t FReep polls, but felt like it in this case. I voted no. Dog is a drama queen, but seems to be a genuinely good guy who does good work.
Saw him on H&C tonight. Pathetic. This guy could have a whole chapter in the DSM.
I watched the show a few times, it lost it's amusement value pretty quickly. However, if there are people that want to watch the crappy show and it pays for itself in advertising, then let it stay on the air.
I suspect that if it gets canceled it will be because the advertisers don't want to be associated with him after his idiotic comments became public.
You can complain about censorship and all that, but in the end it is the advertisers that pay the bills, and if they don't want to support his show, his show is going to get canceled.
The same goes for 95% of what's on TV. So what?
That's not the question.
The question is whether using politically incorrect language when talking privately to your son deserves a public flogging. The "N" word is the verbal taboo du jour. Unless you're a gang banger of course, in which case it's cool.
When tomorrow comes, who knows what words we'll have to think twice about using with members of our family, just in case someone is listening.
I think he’s going too far with his apology. I doubt most of the blacks that are dems will ever forgive him. He said he was really really sorry. Good enough for me, but I’m not black.
But...it’s a dumb show. I don’t really care if it’s taken off the air.
There is nothing necessarily snobby about calling Dog Chapman trashy. He runs around dressed like a WWF figure ... he curses like most can't ... he fathers children he never knew he had until they show up one day ... need I go on? He fits the term trashy like a glove.
And exactly what good has he done with all of the talking he does to criminals? What percentage of his bail jumpers turn their lives around after he had caught them and turned them back in to the police for their court date? How many start a new life?
Yes, he tracked down Andrew Luster and he deserved and got great recognition for that. That ultimately led to him getting the A&E show to begin with. That doesn't give him a pass for the remainder of his life.
FREEP THIS POLL ***PING!*** FRmail me if you want to be added or removed from the Fearless Poll-Freeping Freepers Ping list. And be sure to ping me to any polls that need Freepin', if I miss them. (looks like a medium volume list) (gordongekko909, founder of the pinglist, stays on the list until his ghost signs up for the list)
DID THE GIRLFRIEND REGULARLY USE THE “N-WORD” HERSELF?
If not, why are Freepers defending Dog, and claiming the girlfriend is a hypocrite??
Maybe A & E thinks Dog’s [seemingly] unjustified rantings against his son’s black g/f warrant kicking him off the air??
Dog’s SON got sick of his dad’s rants against his girlfriend for having a skin color different from his.
Why is Dog getting a pass??
DID the girlfriend regularly use the N-word?
If she did NOT, why are Freepers grumbling about hypocrisy and a double standard? As far a we know Dog has shoown himself to be ugly and hateful to his son’s g/f for no other reason than her skin color is different from his.
That’s a lousy, ugly image to project in the eyes of advertisers. End of story!
I cannot believe how many Freepers won’t even condemn his ugliness, nasty attitude towards his own son’s g/f.
I’m tierd of hearing complaints about hypocrisy.
Unless you can prove to me that the girlfriend regularly used the N-word, there’s no excuse for the nastiness.
That’s life...
I think I’ve watched his show a half dozen times (when nothing better was on). Can’t say that I care much for it, but I did note that he tries to use empathy and persuasion whenever possible to get the job done. He may spew racist words, but it’s hard to believe that he is some sort of deep-seated George Lincoln Rockwell or Sheriff Bull Connors type.
Could you give me a link to the post from Jim that says you were in charge of defining the question. Until then it is up to each poster, that is why we have a discussion. The man is a low IQ jerk, and no one that should be held out as any kind of a role model. Do something useful support the military that is really working for you. Not some clown acting like he wants to be on steroids and in the acting ring on the fake WWF.
What he said, in a private conversation, is not nearly as bad as it being used to ruin him .
If you think about it a bit, is this a precedence you want to see started?
Let he who has not sworn cast the first scorn...
The tape itself gives indication that it is not her skin color he had a problem with, and he also publicly stated that it wasn't about race, but character.
His son has drug problems, and apparently the GF was not a good influence on him, and Dog was concerned with her character, NOT her skin color. Dog's pastor is black (who conducted Dog's wedding ceremony) and last I heard he said he doesn't think that Dog is racist.
"Thats a lousy, ugly image to project in the eyes of advertisers. End of story! I cannot believe how many Freepers wont even condemn his ugliness, nasty attitude towards his own sons g/f."
Many here have condemned his language, including myself. I was very disappointed he used that word, in any context, but I do realize that some people don't use it in the worst (racist) context, and although that still doesn't make it right, some of us can see that overall (despite his flaws) he's not the horrible person some have immediately condemned him to be. He has flaws, for sure, we all do. But I am not on the anti-Dog side because despite his obvious flaws, I think he is a believing Christian, albeit a very rough and imperfect one. As a Christian myself, I'm told we are to forgive others. God said if we don't forgive others, He doesn't forgive us.
