"First thing I heard on the news this AM was tornado warning in several counties in AR, You OK?"

So far so good....as least as far as weather is concerned. I expect, though, that we may see some severe weather tonight. Hope I'm wrong. We've got a cold front coming in fast right behind some very warm air.

"Morning fasting blood glucose? 278!"

YIKES! Glad you're feeling okay. The kahlua filled chocolates sound yummy though.

Actually, most of that system last night passed a little to the north of me, but not by much. It’s looking really nasty out there now, but not doing anything so far. I really don’t need another sleepless night.

Imagine a double-deck elevator ascending at 48.5mph

No. When I worked at the ARCO Towers (as it was then called) in LA during the 1980's....they had some that went quite fast up to the executive floors (48 or so to the top: 51)....once I was in one during an earthquake, which create great alarm for those on the 48th floor. I had no idea until I stepped out of the elevator....it shook all the way to the top, as usual, and I felt nothing different than normal.

Elevators aren't the place you're supposed to be during an earthquake. waaaaaa.

"Al and I have been trying to locate your area on a map, but not so sure anymore where you are. You and Ron take care."

I am right on the Arkansas/Missouri border to the south by 20 miles. He is about 10-15 miles north of the border. I'm just to the east of Bentonville/Rogers and slightly SW of Branson, MO. I was seriously stressed last night listening to all those reports. The worst of the tornado warnings in his county were late. I haven't talked to him since about 10:30 last night. Everything was fine then. He had a really intense day at work today, so I really didn't expect to hear from him this morning. I think the Arkansas side of the border may be in for it tonight.

"I suppose nothing could be much worse than the treadmill"

I would LOVE to have a treadmill. I've worn my Gazelle plumb out. I like the treadmill because it is more mindless and gives you more options while working out. Can't afford one right now though.

That is gorgeous!

Ringy, I should email you a picture of my Christmas present. No, not a horse. I wish.

"Cardi, who can quell the lamentations of wimmin with a hug, and, with a chaste kiss, bring out the radiance of the sun in their smile. Sadly, for the prurient, my natural reserve, and the certainty of banning, constrains me from further enumerating my talents with the gentle sex.

Posing another challenge to Catpuppy's golden tongue, Cardy?

Thanks, Yorkie.

Gotta get my butt back to work. *Sigh* This is what passes for a lunch hour on days like this.

Another nice try. But it really is sad to see that you continue to pretend not to have noticed the results of this year's (and last year's) championship games, games before which you predicted "big" 10 success over teams from the SEC, the conference you called "overrated."

Your fondness for "big" 10 losers is exceeded only by the consistency with which they find ways to choke in the big games.

Move south, Sharkey, before it is too late. Better climate, friendlier people and superior football. We'll leave the light on for you ...

ps--I believe that makes 15 SEC National Championships over the past 50 years. The "big" 10 remains stuck at 6.

Same here. The days when one could expect much chance of successfully escaping are long gone.

Yes, you are right. There is no escape - especially with the choppers overhead. But, the cops don’t usually shoot the driver to death. (That is probably why the news chanels use the 7 second delay on ‘live’ video.)

I think that the guy shot one of the police officers. That will get you ventilated almost every time.

But those tiny wheels are a bit smaller than I prefer.

I read about the trouble those tiny wheels gave and how they had to insert shims to prevent wheel wobble - it may be a light plane but it can come down hard.
