OHIO STATE WINS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP FOR 2ND YEAR IN A ROW!

or they would have except they were beaten 41-14 by Florida last year and 38-24 by LSU this year. See you next season, "big" 10.

Garn?

I think Libby has developed a hearing problem.

She keeps calling that pirate she’s hanging out with “R”.

Shouldn’t that be “Arrrr”?

We’re starting to get some of the thunder and rain. It’s going to be a long night. I hope not to have to go to the basement tonight. My back isn’t up to it.

You are not the first this morning Sweets.

ELFWOOD

Hymnea

Here is a site LJ that will post amateur illustrations which I am sure you could introduce to your art class.

You can read the comments about this drawing from other Elfwood artists here

Mornin’, Cardy!

Personally, I would rather wake up to a picture of Craig T. Nelson, Ollie North or even (rest his soul), Jack Palance.

I know - Jack Palance wasn’t the best looker - but, what a talent. And to hear him read Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Raven” was a real treat! It’s not the looks - it’s the soul.

I’m getting ready to call it a day. Hope you had a good rest accross that water!

Still up. Dang.

I just thought of a couple more the ladies might like - Jack Hanna (his love of animals) and Alan Alda (for his humor - not his politics).

Of course, there is also (RIP) Ronald Regan (pride for our country) and Johnny Carson (laughter every night), Bob Hope (our troops need you NOW!). They always leave a warm spot in our hearts.

To go back in history - my poetry connection is with James Whitcomb Riley. He died before my mom was born. Musical connection: Chopin. Art connection: Maxfield Parrish

Your favorites?

Thanks for the pic, Cardy. I loved him in Coach and The District. But, I detest long hair on men. Including Craig T. Nelson. (And Fabian). You are bringing another nuance into this - how we invision them and how they really are. lol

"You are not the first this morning Sweets."

So I see. However, I am having trouble sleeping tonight and have to get up in 2 1/2 hours. I hate when that happens. So far, the storms have not been bad in our immediate area, although there has been some activity.

Millau viaduct: This awe-inspiring bridge, which crosses the Tarn valley in southern France, uses a series of pylons - each as tall as the Eiffel Tower. Another Norman Foster design, the viaduct broke a series of records and is the tallest vehicle bridge in the world. It has a steel deck, rather than the more usual concrete roadbed.

The bridge was cheaper than the alternative of tunnelling through the hills flanking the river, and will shorten the journey by 100km and by up to 4 hours in the holiday season.

I never liked long hair on men, either.

I remember when my older brother and I were both in our teens....his hair was longer than mine (down to his waist). Mine couldn’t grow that long....and wasn’t as thick as his.

Besides disliking it on HIM, I thought it quite unfair that mine wouldn’t grow as long. : )

this is a severe system.

I was reading the thread on this earlier last night. And at that time, there was nothing on the major news online...
