He just lives over in Kimberling City, MO. It’s about a 45 minute drive. Not far. Just winding 2-lane all the way.

You’d best scoot on out of here... You don’t want to be driving on winding roads at night during party season ... and well, you should prolly get a move on for obvious reasons :)

I'm having another cup of the eggnog I made using my Mother's recipe. LOL Not sure where she got it but she made it for years. It has two versions, both are rich. One is light but so creamy that you really do need to eat it with a spoon. The other is also rich but not as thick so it can be drunk from a cup or a pretty glass like an Old Fashion or Martini glass.

Southern Eggnog

12 eggs, separated
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup bourbon
1 cup Cognac
a pinch of salt (approx 1/2 tsp)
3 pints heavy cream
Freshly grated nutmeg
*1 - 2 Cups Milk

Beat the egg yolks and sugar with mixer until mixture is thick.

Then, turn down mixer speed and slowly add the bourbon and cognac to the egg yolk and sugar mixture. Chill for several hours.

Then, add the salt to the egg whites and beat til almost stiff.

Then, in another bowl, whip the cream until stiff.

Fold the whipped cream into the yolk/bourbon/cognac mixture, then fold in the beaten egg whites. Chill for about an hour.

Spoon into punch cups or demi-tasse cups, sprinkle freshly grated nutmeg on the top and serve with a spoon

* For the thinner verson, add 1 - 2 cups of milk to the yolk mixture. Serve in a pretty glass or cup.

Makes approx 35-40 servings

Recipe can be halved easily.

Thanks Resty, Josh Groban has a wonderful voice, and of course, the late Pavarotti was also a favorite of mine.

I know how you feel - I haven´t eaten a thing today as I will be going out in about two hours for Noche Buena.

I will be there early for the family then we have buffet meal around midnight with everyone standing around eating and drinking.

Gotta be careful not to have too much - I bet the Policia will be out tonight to spoil everyone’s fun. But I shall take the back roads home.

Here is something warm your hands - I made it myself - well I stole pieces and made a presentation of it.

HIT ESC A COUPLE OF TIMES TO END IT.
