No you didn’t.

I have two questions.

Was he barefoot on the tour?

Did he come with a guy? (Double-endendre fully intended)...

"Was he barefoot on the tour? Did he come with a guy?"

LOL! No; actually, he was in period costume and playing keyboard at one of the homes. No; he is actually engaged to a woman....although one has to wonder what is wrong with HER. She appears quite normal and seems to be a very nice lady.

"That’s the funniest one I’ve seen!"

As Cardy said, it COULD explain a few things about our gran.

Perhaps that's who Mo got her infamous cake recipe from.

Ssssshhh..... Sharkey wouldn't let us hear the end of it. You know what a fixation he has about the relations thing. Methinks he doth protest too much.

They’ve been altered, tweaked.

LSU edging closer to possible BCS Championship Game Berth

The polls are coming in, and the LSU Tigers are apparently edging closer to a berth in the BCS National Championship Game.

The USA Today coaches’ poll came out earlier today, with LSU at No. 2 and Ohio State at No. 1. The coaches’ poll is one-third of the Bowl Championship Series formula to determine the pairing for the national championship game, Jan. 7 at the Superdome.

Still to come: the Harris Interactive poll and the composite of the six computer polls that comprise the final third of the BCS formula. Each school’s highest and lowest computer ranking is discarded and the other four rankings are averaged.

As of 1:45 p.m., only Jeff Sagarin’s rankings had been released. Sagarin had LSU at No. 2 behind Virginia Tech, with Oklahoma No. 3, Ohio State No. 4 and Kansas No. 5.

ESPN BCS analyst Brad Edwards said on ESPNews on Sunday that barring an unexpectedly low ranking in the Harris poll, LSU would be No. 2 in the final BCS rankings behind Ohio State.

The BCS pairings and rankings will be announced during the BCS selection show at 7 p.m. on Fox.

-Snip-

"Sunday, LSU Chancellor Sean O’Keefe said Miles’ new contract will pay him from $2.6-3.4 million per year in a five-year deal with up to two more years that can be optioned by LSU.

Exact dollar figures will be based on the salaries of the three highest-paid coaches in the Southeastern Conference and across the nation, O’Keefe said, which is how Miles’ current contract is structured.

If LSU wins the BCS championship game, Miles’ current contract (which pays him $1.8 million per year) guarantees he will be one of the three highest-paid coaches in the country.

The contract will be drawn up and signed Monday or Tuesday, O’Keefe said, then approved by the LSU board Thursday or Friday.

“It worked out perfectly,” O’Keefe said. “Everything fell into place exactly right.

“There’s not just an agreement in principle. It is agreed.”

Doing the little things

MVP Perrilloux comes through in clutch

ATLANTA — The game was over and done with and LSU quarterback Ryan Perrilloux was headed onto the podium to accept the Most Valuable Player award.

But Les Miles wasn’t going to let one more chance to coach fall by the wayside.

Before the enigmatic and unquestionably talented Perrilloux could reach for the proof of his shining moment, Miles grabbed him in a bear hug and whispered in his ear for several seconds.

“I told him that it’s doing things right that makes the difference,” Miles said of the moment he shared with Perrilloux after LSU secured a 21-14 triumph against Tennessee in the 2007 SEC Championship Game. “It’s competing and going to class and doing things right that will keep him in this position.

“Nothing else.”

Nothing else.

On this night, that’s all that mattered for Perrilloux.

Not the off-the-field trouble or the cocky brashness that preceded his arrival or the questions about if he was really good enough to be an SEC quarterback.

Perrilloux wasn’t perfect, but he was close enough. He threw for 243 yards on 20-of-30 passing and provided enough of a threat with his legs to keep the Volunteers defense on its heels."

If I had a college age, football playing son I'd want him to be in Coach Miles program. Perrilloux has been in Coach Miles Doghouse all season and it seems he may have matured a little more there than he might have otherwise.

Contrary to ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit erroneous Saturday morning, Game Day, "Big Scoop"... LSU and Coach Miles reached an agreement Friday. :)
This is the place I want to be’

Neither Pelini nor Miles would confirm Pelini is leaving, but Miles admitted he may be looking for a new defensive coordinator. He said one candidate he would consider is Georgia Tech interim coach Jon Tenuta, who is running the program in the wake of former coach Chan Gailey’s firing.

Miles did not unequivocally say he was staying at LSU during the news conference, but did so moments later in a pregame interview he taped with Jordy Hultberg for the LSU Sports Radio Network.

“Absolutely,” Miles told Hultberg. “I’m staying at LSU. This is the place that I want to be. This is the place my family is very comfortable. This school has everything. It has an opportunity (for) victory and competing at the very highest level.

“Personally, professionally and socially, we have friends here, I respect the young men that I coach. Anybody that I’ve signed, when I tell them I’m going to be here, I’m sincere. I’ve been the head coach at LSU and I’m going to be the head coach at LSU.”

-snip-

Miles spoke to the media after the game and said he was happy to be wanted by LSU.

“First, the school here wants me to stay,” Miles said. “This is a great place. I’ve got a great team. We’ve got a great recruiting class started and it appears we’ll be able to finish it strongly. There are a lot of plusses here.

“I’ve not talked to anybody from Michigan. The idea that I could allow misinformation (the ESPN report) to occur and that, in fact, if I am going to stay, there is no finer time to make a decision than before we play the championship game.”

Miles admitted his love for Michigan is still strong.

“I’m for them and if there’s any way I can help them I’d love to help them,” Miles said. “But I’m not going there.

“It saddens me at times. I can’t be at two places. I’ve got a great place. I’m at home.”

Miles is a family man. He, his wife and all of his children are pretty firmly involved in the community. His oldest daughter is a champion swimmer, won some state title not long ago. His two sons play just about every sport. When he isn't coaching at LSU he can be seen out at various events, supporting one or the other of his children. Same is true for Kathy, his wife. They are also very actively involved in several charity fund-raising events, they even host a large one at their home each year. They've made this their home, they have a good life here. It would have really surprised me if he had been able to just uproot his family. I felt like all along that was a key factor as to whether or not he stayed.

Congrats on LSU being chosen to whip Ohio State this year. I think it's nice that the SEC rotates its BCS team so that each one can get the opportunity to crush a "Big" 10 team in the national championship. I'm pretty sure that LSU can match last year's 41-14 stomping of the Buckeyes* by Florida.

*Buckeye: The tree species Aesculus glabra is commonly known as Ohio buckeye, American buckeye, fetid buckeye, or stinking buck-eye. It derives its unflattering common names from the disagreeable odor generated when the leaves are crushed. -- Wikipedia

Since you believe in such superiority, how's about a little wager there Pup? 100 big ones would be fine with me.

Since the SEC is sooooo superior (41-14), you should give be willing to give up those 27 points yes? If you actually cover the spread, the pay off doubles to you, and if OSU wins, the pay off would be double to me.

I'll be waiting for you to answer your agreement, but don't expect you to actually do anything but spout.......

:-)

Congrats on keeping Miles.

He is a good coach, and doesn't whine like the Floriduh dude.

Speaking of which, Michigan plays the whiners' team on Jan 1, how's that for irony?

We will get killed as our QB and running back will not be 100%.

Unlike Pup, I think LSU will have a very hard time beating Ohio State. This will not be a gimme and should be very close.

I received this in my e-mail, cleaned it up and translated it from the Spanish:

A Japanese boy arrives at the USA. It is the first day of classes and the teacher presents Suzuki, the son of a Japanese industrialist, to the boys of the sixth grade.

The teacher says to them: 'We will begin by reviewing a little American history. - Who said, 'Give me liberty or give me death' ?

The class remains quiet, except for Suzuki: - He said, “ Patrick Henry, 1775.”

' Very Good! Who said, ' …and that this government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth." ?

Again, no answer from the class, except for Suzuki: ' Abraham Lincoln, 1863'.

The teacher, astonished, says to them: ' You should all be ashamed, Suzuki is new in our country, and he knows more of our history than any of you.'

Then the teacher hears a someone say ' to hell with the damn Japanese '. - Who said that? The teacher asks. Again Susuki raises its hand and says: ' General McArthur, 1942 and Lee Iacocca, 1982'.

The class is silent and one of the boys whispers: ' I think I am going to be sick.'

. The teacher looks around and said “who said that?”' And Suzuki says: - ' George Bush father, to Japanese Prime minister, 1991 '

One of the students is furious, shouts from the back at the Japanese boy:- “Suck this”.

Suzuki, almost jumping out of his chair, says to the teacher: - ' Bill Clinton to Monica Lewinsky. 1997'

The class is in hysterics. The teacher is dismayed as the chaos spreads. While the boys crowd around the teacher, one of them exclaims: - ' Sh*t how did this happen? ' and Suzuki responds: - ' George W. Bush, immediately after the invasion of Iraq, 2003.

Finally one of the boys shouted at the Suzuki, “ Why don’t you shut up?

And Suzuki responds: - Juan Carlos, King of Spain, in Santiago of Chile, 10 of November of 2007.
