Whats Your Favorite (Or Least Favorite) New TV Show Of This Season? (Vanity)

Posted on 10/23/2007 4:59:20 PM PDT by proudofthesouth

With all the bad news coming out of California I thought a frivolous topic might be in order.

What is your favorite or least favorite of the new television season?

I have two shows that I look forward to each week:

The Big Bang Theory (Mondays on CBS) and Samantha Who with Christina Applegate (Mondays on ABC)

I have an extremely dry sense of humor and both of these shows just crack me up (especially Big Bang Theory).

The only reality TV show that I like is “So You Think You Can Dance”. TV this past weekend was so bad that I watched reruns of it on MTV. BTW, it was the first time I EVER watched anything on MTV!

I also love, love, love “Dirty Jobs” (Mike Rowe is one sexy man!) on Discovery but have finally gotten burned out on “Mythbusters”. It was a great show when it was just Adam and Jamie but once they started bringing in others I lost interest.

lol Can do both at the same time! A lot of the returning shows are in my favorites: Smallville, Supernatural, DWTS, Survivor, Deal or No Deal, Vegas, Ghost Whisperer, Meerkat Manor. Like I’ve said, have a very busy tape recorder.

The History Channel.

Why is it there is so little history on the History Channel these days? Lately, it is all about highly improbable doomsday events.

Oh yes...very good... & different. The only other show I watch is Boston Legal.

I used to like BL but it had gone completely gay.

There does seem to be a lot of that, doesn’t there? UFOs and mega-disasters and Nostradamus take up a lot, but I still like Modern Marvels and what History they do manage to sneak in.

Kitchen Nightmares on Fox. Chef Ramsay quote of the season (so far): “This looks like someone sh*t in a bag and put in the oven.”

I mean the cross dresser, the gay judge, the gay military officer, the ridiculously overt sexuality of shatner and spader and the innuendo between them. They have to dip a little lower every season and they reached my limit this season.

Be honest with you it looks like most of the Law & Order spin offs are aiming at our troops or the Bush Administration

I turned Law and Order off last nite after five minutes. The story line was about prosecuting a woman who was involved with an Arab's torture in Iraq.

I don’t really have one. I’m just surprised that “Viva Laughlin” got whacked before “Cavemen”.

I sat through about 20 minutes of CAVEMEN. I kept watching because I thought at some point, something funny would happen. It didn't.

It has to be one of the worst sitcoms I've ever had the displeasure of watching.

Ugh.

Got it...the same reason why I stopped watching Sex & The City after the 1st season...

I haven’t been watching much since “Dr. Who” wrapped up its “third” season.

I liked “The Unit” at first but quit watching when it morphed into “Desperate Housewives”. A military show does not need to delve into the sexual messes of the soldiers’ wives.

All shows on the Discovery Channel and/or History Channel.

(or most anyway)

And all movies on TCM — Turner Classic Movies

Ted Turner is an a-hole supreme, but his movie channel is mezmerizing. I could watch those old black and white movies all day and night, and never get tired.

They just don’t have actors or actresses today like those in the 30s, 40s, and 50s. It’s a darn shame.

I hoped to like Pushing Daisies, but can’t stand it.

Journeyman has possibilities, but the intrusion of the old girlfriend is irritating and distracting.

I think Life is the best new show and I also like the Christina Applegate show.

Can’t stand the Office. Heroes has lost it. Too confusing, too many characters, introducing new ones when we already had too many, Japanese guy in the past? gimme a break. Syler is sickening.
