Can anyone see the differences here??? The majority of the people here are responsible, hard working, CIVIL people who take care of their families and themselves. As opposed to the people packed the Superdome in LA. See how the situation turned out? It wasn't the devastation, it wasn't the GUMMIT, it was the people.
I can already hear the people of LA crying that the rich white people in SoCal got buffets while they got nothing.
That mentality of "getting something" is the root of the problem IMHO.
“That mentality of “getting something” is the root of the problem IMHO.”
From the article;
“... Fowler said, sipping a root beer. “I never thought I’d be in a place like this, getting handouts.”
Mr. Fowler considers “help” a “handout”, not a “right”. Therein lies the difference.
LOL. Its very hard to pick words that don’t “offend”.
Given similar circumstances.....
You take this group of people and have a certain outcome.
You take that group of people and have a different outcome.
WHERE WAS LOOTIE? Ping.
Exactly......I don’t think he will be crying looking for his $2000 debit card.
I feel that he will take responsibility for his own well-being.
There are civilized people in this stadium. Thats why its working.
Wise man.
Well,
my emails are in this morning—
Amy is there with her 3 kids, and working her butt off in the shelter.
Cathy is helping evac horses.
Leslie is still home, but worried.
Su is in SF and keeping tabs on everyone.
Great ladies every last one of them.
Good for them....send them our blessings.
/moonbat
go on... I dare ya...
I can't bring myself to do it, the sheer thought of reading such stupidity about the haves and have-nots is too nauseating.. and I just had breakfast.
We’ll hear from Jesse before long.
Actually I hope we do. I think that people should see this. This shows that things can work when there are civilized people involved.
On a side note....I live in a neighborhood where people are moderately middle class. Not rich, by no means, but not poor. Everyone bought there house and keep it up. We keep our houses neat and landscaping in order. No Housing & Urban Development homes.
A few miles around the corner is a HUD community...government assisted housing. The immediate difference is the way things are kept up. There is trash everywhere along the streets, overgrown grass, junk in the yards, broken windows.
I realize these people are poor and can’t afford anything else, but do they have to be lazy too? It doesn’t take money to pick up trash.
So why are well-to-do neighborhoods neat and clean and safe, while ghettos are trash-filled and full of crime? Mentality. Its got nothing to do with money.
Besides, we're still full up.
I hope some of them have gotten jobs by now. It’s only been two years.
Many of our friends and co-workers have been evac'd. We have 2 families staying with us... the city's a mess, frankly. Road closures, so many people evacuated, ash everywhere...folks can't go to work, obviously. Even the military bases are working with essential personnel only...
The new stats are 1000 homes destroyed..the destruction is enormous.
My step-father and his family not long ago had $10.00 in their checking account, a pile of bills, mortgage and what have you. Since then, he worked up the ranks in retail management, and started his own business. Today, he is a managing partner at one of the most successful legal recruiting firms in California.
I believe the aforementioned mentality prevails in San Diego County; and thus, the results are painfully obvious at Qualcomm Stadium. My step-dad received no government handouts of any sort and is truly a self-made man (but he gives ultimate credit to God).
With that said, listening to the Race Pimp Jackson, and other poverty pimps complain and compare Qualcomm to NOLA and the SuperDome... I'll say: I don't want to hear it, San Diegans don't want to hear it, and GET A REAL JOB!
I guess that is the SoCal version of roughing it!
