My step-father and his family not long ago had $10.00 in their checking account, a pile of bills, mortgage and what have you. Since then, he worked up the ranks in retail management, and started his own business. Today, he is a managing partner at one of the most successful legal recruiting firms in California.
I believe the aforementioned mentality prevails in San Diego County; and thus, the results are painfully obvious at Qualcomm Stadium. My step-dad received no government handouts of any sort and is truly a self-made man (but he gives ultimate credit to God).
With that said, listening to the Race Pimp Jackson, and other poverty pimps complain and compare Qualcomm to NOLA and the SuperDome... I'll say: I don't want to hear it, San Diegans don't want to hear it, and GET A REAL JOB!
Good on your SF. I hope his property can make it through. But property is just material things. If they stay safe, the same mentality that got them where they are today will enable them to rebuild.
....and they will do it without government handouts.
