Sort of have a similar opinion about Emperor Palpatine in Star Wars.

George Lucas has a litany of what he considers Palpatine to be and represent, but even though he is the 'inventor' of Emperor Palpatine, can choose whether to use Lucas' intent or not.

Palpatine is a reminder that having a Senator as an all powerful Emperor is a bad idea.
