IMAX "The Dark Knight" Preview Coming!
comicbookmovie.com ^ | 10-16

It’s been the way of film advertising lately to release a small snippet from the movie in advance to the movies release....it looks as if Batman the Dark Knight will be screening a 6 or 7 minute trailer this December...

(There's more at the link but most of it's irrelevant.)

By the way, this was recently confirmed to be true, although I couldn't find a link. There WILL be a 7-minute prologue to "The Dark Knight" this December, and it will premiere ONLY in IMAX theaters before the Will Smith movie "I Am Legend."

Mark your calendars, guys! This will be out December 14th. As for me, I'm going to have to start searching like crazy for a nearby IMAX theater.

Here's what I know so far: there will be a huge bank robbery scene led by the Joker and his clown-masked henchmen. This scene WAS filmed in IMAX, which stirred some discussion. It looks like this is the scene we'll be seeing in this prologue. Whether or not this is a scene from the movie or a special "prelude" shot specifically for this IMAX release I'm not sure, but I'm leaning towards the latter.

Either way, this will certainly be the premiere of Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker. I know there's a lot of Ledger-bashing and skepticism on this particular forum, but I'm convinced from what I've read and heard that Ledger's going to surprise EVERYone...and his performance may even exceed Nicholson's. And I'm ready to debate with anyone on this!

(And please, everyone who's reading, I'm going to kindly ask again to spare me the "Brokeback" jokes).

Are “Broke-Bat” jokes permissible?

I'm looking forward to seeing this, but for me, there's really only one Joker...

Hey man! Nothing much. I’m back in the unemployment line, but no biggie. Worked for a big evil tobacco company for about five months and now I’m ready for something else. I don’t post here as much as I used to...just do my ping duties mostly.

How’ve you been?

Well, personally, I always thought JOhn KERry was the Joker, and Edwards was the real Harley Quinn.

Well, speaking from experience, your work ethic will, sooner or later, guide you to your calling and you’ll do well.

(That was a compliment)

Even though the current career is rock solid, I’m looking to transition to something I REALLY enjoy. In my limited spare time I’m teaching entry-level firearms safety to kids. I’m planning on additional training and certification to be able to teach all things guns and personal protection.

All the best to you. See you around......

I think the last I heard was that it was the first however many minutes of the movie. I can’t wait, I have already located an IMAX nearby and rounded up friends to go with. It helps that I Am Legend looks interesting as well.

For the curious...he’s a picture I took with my Digital SLR of a Giraffe outside my window at Animal Kingdom lodge. Sweet bokeh(clear subject, blurred background) http://www.geocities.com/malbor2/fr/bokeh.jpg

Oh and i’m looking forward to this movie. I hope it’s not like most garbage coming out of leftywood.

Yeah, that’s what I’m hearing, too. While I would have preferred a specially-shot intro, this isn’t something to balk at.

alright...lemme break it down for ya.

An image that shows a clear subject in the foreground and has blurred backround has bokeh.

To get that effect requires a low F-stop. 2.8 or lower.

Ah, ok. That makes sense to me. :0)

I don’t know much about camera technology...”IMAX is big and cool” would be the extent of my expertise on the matter.
