In an interview last night on CNN's "Larry King Live," the former president of Mexico, Vicente Fox, confirmed the existence of a government plan to create the amero as a new regional currency to replace the U.S. dollar, the Canadian dollar and the Mexican Peso. It possibly was the first time a leader of Mexico, Canada or the U.S. openly confirmed a plan to create a regional currency. Fox explained the current regional trade agreement is intended to evolve into other previously hidden aspects of integration.

Does zorro mean fox ? How you say Rat Bastard ?
It will just be called the US dollar...or perhaps the American Dollar. Canada and Mexico and probably most of the rest of the hemisphere will eventually move to it.
Just when I sold my tinfoil hat on ebay, Fox had to go ahead and say this.
Too bad that amnesty bill didn’t work out for W... yet.
Eeh...well, this only adds a SLIGHT increase in my believing in this...since I don’t trust much of anything any Mexican “leader” says. Nor do I trust much from World Net Daily either.
If it happens it will be other countries adopting the US Dollar.
Meximerada
Why do you say that.... the Dollar is headed for the buying power of the Peso....
When it’s 1/2 way there....then Here comes the Amero.
The dollar has recovered the last couple days.
More from the transcript:
“Mr. Fox, I would like to know how you feel about the possibility of having a Latin America united with one currency?”
Fox answered in the affirmative, admitting he and President Bush had agreed to pursue the Free Trade Agreement of the Americas a free-trade zone extending throughout the Western Hemisphere and that part of the plan was to institute a regional currency from Canada to the tip of South America.
“Long term, very long term,” he said. “What we proposed together, President Bush and myself, it’s ALCA, which is a trade union for all the Americas.” ALCA is the acronym for the Area de Libre Comercio de las Américas, the name of the FTAA in Spanish.
King, evidently startled by Fox’s revelation of the currency, asked pointedly, “It’s going to be like the euro dollar, you mean?”
“Well, that would be long, long term,” Fox repeated.

Do you trust CNN (a redundant question, I admit): This was on Larry King Live, not and interview by Jerome Corsi or Josephy Farrah..how much proof do you need?
I saw that last night on TV. V.Fox definitely said that there would be some kind of currency between the countries. He was difficult for me to understand. I am glad you posted and explained the FTAA and ALTA.
The ruination of the US is happening before our eyes.
Thought I would ping the free traders as I am sure they will look up the Larry King interview and read what their boss,V. Fox, had to say.

Well I don’t really trust CNN or Fox, but I digress.
Here’s what he said:
“long, long term.”
Regardless what his goals are, it’s long-term. Which says to me, keep my eyes open, and don’t get too alarmed yet.
Which says that if it is happening it’s nowhere near a “done deal” in the sense that it’s unstoppable.
Mexico has never been a friend of our United States.
Based on old pesos!
The looters of Mexico want to have the freedom to loot America.
After spending several years starting oil exploration crews for Pemex, I think I have The reason Mexico has become so bad.
I like the Mexican people in the fly over parts of Mexico. The mid level and workers of Pemex are good. It is the government and the high up in Pemex that are the vultures and looters. The peso was about 8 cents (12.5 to a dollar). When Pemex found the sito grande, a very large oil pool that covers parts of the states of Chiapas and Tabasco also a long ways into the Gulf of Mexico.
Pemex borrowed billions to produce this great oil find. The looters (government) stole most of the money and what they did buy was junk oil rigs and drill pipe, etc. 1,000 pesos which was worth about $80 now will not buy a coke (old pesos). This was due to the looters stealing billions from the Mexican people.
Instead of overthrowing the looters the Mexican people had an out, they had no weapons and they could cross into America and have a much safer life. This hurts both Mexico and America as Mexico lost some of its hardest workers. The gangbangers and welfare frauds also came over from Mexico as they could rape and pillage at will.
The government of Mexico is propped up by the billions sent back by the illegals and by our government having borders that are too open.
The only chance I see to help America and Mexico is to seal the border, deport the people who are not here legally. We also need to arm the Mexican people so they can have a chance against the looters with their armies.
This was all spelled out in detail at the end of the NAFTA “trade agreement” including the North American Union.
I read it in my Congressmens office, pointed it out to him and he laughed at me saying that it was just fluff and didn’t mean anything.
I brought it up here and was called a liar and a kook.
Suck it up suckers, I tried to warn you.
