Sorry Cleveland. I appreciate what you did, but I like the Rockies efforts this year.

The Rockies seem also to be the only team this postseason which doesn't need a full-time Spanish interpreter. God knows my Mets' official language is Spanish, as Paul LoDuca infamously lamented.

It’s not as bad as the bandwagon Red Sox Nation that appeared out of a vacuum in 2004. They win won World Series in 85 years and they think the whole country needs to care.

Yes and no.

A high payroll might get you to the playoffs. Ref. the Yankees. But it won’t win you a world series ring. Again, look at the Yankees getting shut out again in the first round of the playoffs.

In reality, the one thing a lot of money can’t buy you in baseball these days is good pitching. There aren’t enough good young arms to go around, and most teams have smartened up and refused to release their young prospects anymore.

the Yankees have made a career this decade of buying Big bats. A-Rod, back stabbing ex-mariner he is, is an example of that. Big Bats, if you have enough of them, can usually come through and power enough games over a 100 plus season to get you in the playoffs. Unless you are the Bluejays stuck in the same divisions as the Red sox and Yankees.

but come five game and seven game playoffs pitching can make or end your stay. Yanks don’t have it.

IMO, to remove this curse, all New Yorkers must vote Republican in 2008. LOL!

It would not be the first time that Reggie struck out three times. He is the all time strike out leader.

agreed, and Jeter is the biggest prima donna of them all, he’s always looking for the camera. My elderly mother, an avid Yankee fan, would like to speak with Steinbrenner to get rid of Jeter! How many double plays were caused by him? And why Giambi at the end of the game, he hadn’t played during the whole game. Definitely no TEAM work going on.

Oh what great memories of the Cleveland Indians in the 50’s and 60’s....

I was married on June 17,1961 a Saturday, Fathers Day was June 18th and the Indians and Yankees were scheduled to play and we told my dad during that spring that for Fathers Day we would take him to the game, NEVER thinking hey that is the day after our wedding!!! Well we kept our promise and I slept thru the whole game and my dad announced to everyone in hearing distance that we just got married the day before...what a roar of laughter as I was just waking up.....

still have that same guy after 46 years and still following our TRIBE....

Great exciting nail biting game...
Happy Fall everyone and good~nite ALL

I get so tired of all these NewYoricans moving down here with their jumbo NY logos plastered all over their cars.

For the past 5 or six years I celebrate the postseason by buying the ballcap of the team that beats the Yankees and then wear it around town for the next few months.
