I saw the last Indians and Browns games in that old stadiumI was at the last Browns game. The best part was the chick doing the topless lapdance in the Dawg Pound--and all the true fans ripping up seats and carrying them out, snarling and daring the Modell pukes to try and stop them.

Glad to see the Yanks bite it, but that leaves me with no one to pull against...or for, since my Mets did the big el-foldo.

WooHoo!! Long may the Yankees Choke!
Go Rockies!
Sorry Cleveland. I appreciate what you did, but I like the Rockies efforts this year. Gotta go with them for it all Even if they play the Red sox, whom i usually root for outside of Mariner’s. :-)

I'd like to see Joe Torre get hired as manager of the Pittsburgh Pirates. He is a class act with a total horse's rear end for a boss. Amen. Even Yankee haters can admire a man of pure class like Joe Torre.

So from this we can extrapolate that if Hitlery is elected POTUS, every team in America will lose from then on.

NY Yankees 2007 payroll $195,229,045 Cleveland Indians 2007 payroll $61,289,667 That's the beauty of baseball. Unlike with football, ANY team can win in any given year in baseball.

I work with a lot of Yanker fans, they can eat the leftover misery pie that we Met fans have had to eat for the last month. And they were sure rubbing it in Mets' fans faces when calling "the FAN" (WFAN) and proclaiming their impending Championship. It will be fun to hear their misery tonight on Steve Summer's show.

55 post season at bats, ONE RBI. Yeah, he's worth a hundred million or whatever. Hard to imagine the Lightning Rod will return to NY next season.

Tribe fans needn’t get too excited. It was those darn Indians who beat the beloved Beantowners in that sudden death playoff game in 1948. Tribe is about to face PAYBACK. Go Red Sox. What goes around comes around.

A little Georgie anecdote here that brought a smile to my lips every time Steinbrenner fired Billy Martin — and it just might be appropriate here and now:
Steinbrenner and I were classmates at Culver Military, class of 1948. I was in the Infantry — “B” Company and George was in the Band Company, billeted in historic Argonne Barracks.
Every time we formed up for Parade I remember well watching Georgie Boy, all legs and terrible temper, march by — PLAYING THE FLUTE! **S**
So there, Georgie Boy !! A very true story !!!

Yep. The D-Backs and the Rockies finished in a tie for last in their division last year, and look where they are now. Great stories. ...especially the Rocks (who've now won 18 of their last 19).
Folks who constantly whine about payroll descrepancies are both tiresome and bitter.

Baseball seems the only sport where you can just write a check for wins. Tell it to Colorado and Cleveland. It just 'aint so.
