Well, it was expensive, but...you have to understand Cowboy fans...we know were building Jerry Jones a new stadium, we know we are increasing his personal wealth by doing it, and we even allowed the government to use emanate domain to do it, but have you seen Romo this year!!!!

Besides, it is and will be really good for Arlington.

They aren’t that new (it’s been over a decade). And Carolina, which started the same year, is #14. I think it’s the vast quantity of sucking, except for the year they made to the AFC finals the Jags have been a pretty mediocre team, good enough to annoy some of their opponents but not good enough to win fans.

Drew Pearson's offensive pass interference "non-call" in 1975
against the Vikings was when I went from not liking the cowboys to absolutely HATING them.

From what I understand, Jones wants everything at the new stadium—Cowboys, Super Bowls, Red River Shootout, Olympics, high school, Carrie Underwood concerts, etc. I believe Super Bowl XLV will be held there too...

“It didn’t take Terry long to move to Dallas after his tenure with the Steelers.”

Which disprove the myth that Terry isn’t that bright!

Johnny Unitas? Because Brady beats Manning everyday.

As a Colts fan I’ll take second place. I know we have the greatest QB ever to play the game

Johnny U?

This is the ballot measure voted for by the citizens of Arlington. 63,000 for and 51,000 against.

For Or Against: Authorizing the City of Arlington, Texas to provide for the planning, acquisition, establishment, development, construction and financing of the Dallas Cowboys Complex Development Project within the city and to impose a sales and use tax within the city at a rate of one-half of one percent (0.5%), to impose a tax at a maximum rate of five percent (5%) on the gross rental receipts from the short-term rental in the city of a motor vehicle, to impose a tax on the occupancy of a room in a hotel located within the city, at a maximum rate of two percent (2%) of the price paid for such room, to impose an admissions tax on each ticket sold as admission to an event held at the Dallas Cowboys Complex Development Project, at a maximum rate not to exceed ten percent (10%) of the price of the ticket, and to impose a tax on each parked motor vehicle in a parking facility of the Dallas Cowboys Complex Development Project at a maximum rate not to exceed three dollars ($3.00) per vehicle.

Looks like the visitors are going to pay for half of it, Jerry Jones is paying for the other half.

Except of course for Terry Bradshaw. ONLY QB to win four Super Bowls.

Umm.... Joe Montana and the 49ers might dispute that. They beat:

The Kenny Anderson Bengals
The Dan Marino Dolphins
The Boomer Esiason Bengals
and the John Elway Broncos....

“Johnny Unitas? Because Brady beats Manning everyday.” Uhh, Manning has been kicking Brady’s rear end for three years now. It’s become routine.

It's about to be the Arlington Cowboys

Considering the stadium is in Tarrant County, they could be called the Ft. Worth Cowboys.

I am a native Texan, grew up in Dallas area and despise the Cowboys and always have as long as I can remember. I got so sick of hearing America’s team blah blah ad nauseum... When the Colts play the Cowboys I have nobody to cheer for.

I think Staubach and Landry are the exceptions, I admire them for their abilities.

I also root for OU ( I went there ) instead of UT.

That was seared, seared in my memory until the great choke of ‘98, courtesy of DeKnee Green.

He tried, but the Red River Shoot Out (Hook 'em Horns) is staying at the Cotton bowl.

There is also a rumor floating around Arlington that Universal Theme Parks is buying up land.. don't know if that is true or not, but people in Arlington are really excited about it and hoping it turns out to be true.

>> Dallas is the New York Yankees of football.

I’ve often though that ... which is also why I cannot bring myself to detest the Yankees (even though they took 2/5 of the starting pitchers from my Astros this season). If you take a poll of the most hated teams in the NFL, I’d bet the Cowboys rank in the top 3 on that one, too (probably along with the Raiders).

The Cowboys are the NFL’s Evil Empire.

They’ve got a large fanbase - which gets them the universal scorn of contrarians who hate anything that’s popular. Virtually every NFL team considers the Cowboys a rival - including the Texans, Eagles, Redskins, Giants, Packers, 49ers, Bills, Bears and Steelers. They’re usually pretty good and occasionally great ... among the better franchises in the history of the NFL. They gave themselves the title “America’s Team” - a move which really pissed off the fans of other teams - and get virtually constant ESPN coverage (while other teams don’t). And, Jerry Jones is as much of a character as George Steinbrenner.

Like the Yankees and Red Sox, the Cowboys will always be among the most popular teams - and always among the most despised teams. Generally, people either love or detest the Dallas Cowboys - there are few in the middle.
