What Kind of Security Do You Think National Radio Show Hosts Have?

I've wondered this on and off over the years depending on the discussion of the day. So I'm about to ask a theorhetical question that in no way should be taken as "How would someone get to this guy?" but one of genuine curiosity.

The recent Stalinistic tactics of the Democratic Senate leadership denouncing an individual citizen expressing free speech and the general lunacy of the left has me asking; what kind of security do you think national radio show hosts have?

You may or may not remember Alan Berg, KOA radio show host, that was murdered by white supremecists in the 80's. The culture coarsening today surrounding talk radio is much more volatile. I don't think anyone can believe that not to be the case.

Fortunately this nation has gone a generation since a Presidential assasination attempt. However isn't it realistic in scope compared to an MLK or RFK type assasination if some lunatic were to take a shot at one of the national talk show hosts?

I won't pretend to compare any national host in historical import to a civil rights leader or presumptive nominee. However this nation has a history of killing its leaders, its voices for change and societal bulwarks. It's not unfair to put Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck or Michael Savage in that type of category.

Given the vitriol of the political left's elected officials and downright insanity eminating out of the left wing blogs is it not purdent to have security surrounding these people and their families?

I'm just curious if I"m alone in wondering if these voices are well protected because frankly the liberal phrase "I may disagree with what you say but will defend to the death your right to say it." is long since in our liberal/progressive/Bolshevik's past.

What is protecting the voices of the right?

I’d be willing to bet that Rush has good security. If you’ll recall, when he takes a few days off he never says where he’s going. He only mentions it after he’s returned.I’ll bet that he does that at least partially at the suggestion of his security people.

As for local hosts...there’s a guy here in Boston,Howie Carr, who’s spoken in the past about having been at least somewhat concerned for his safety...particularly because of a long-standing “thing” he’s had with one of the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted...Whitely Bulger.

Glenn Beck has talked about his security on the radio and TV.
Few years back there was a credible threat and him and his family was moved to a protected safe house. Studio was set up there for a week or so till the threat was checked/dealt with.

Can’t remember if the threat ever turned out to be real or just a very scary nutjob.
