Just found this pic of the new additions to the Zune line.
Wow. Microsoft really missed the boat on ergonomics again. And it still adds draconian DRM to anything put on it. And oh yes, you still can't buy songs over the thing's Wifi. And the controller is a "flick your finger across the touchpad" type, very difficult to use given where it is on the Zune - as opposed to Apple's scroll wheel.
The 80gb model is only available in black. The original 30gb Zune is also still available in all the original colors, including the "human waste brown" one.
Above is the new flash-based players in 4 and 8gb.
Amusingly, Microsoft has determined that the only way they are going to be able to compete with iTunes is to emulate it - and when these things go on sale in November, Microsoft is going to offer a library of one million DRM free tunes for purchase.
Looks like Steve was right again, and Microsoft is just following the real leader in the market.
Olive?
Looks sort of 1960ish. It would go good with orange...
Oh, and one in Pepto-Bismol Pink...
Hmmmm. Product tie-in?
Most people have said that hardware-wise, the Zune is actually a pretty good device. The problem was the interface software, which was clunky and hard to use. The new Zunes probably improved the hardware (the new hardware interface is said to be quite good), but the biggest improvement was a complete re-write of the Zune interface software, which makes the ability to copy media files to the player vastly easier.
