Don’t forget that Osama bin Laden declared war on us in a 1998 speech, and the Iranians have, for all practical purposes, been at war with us since the hostage crisis of 1979. What surprises me is that nobody in the current controversy is mentioning that the Iranian president looks a lot like one of the original hostage-takers. Not even Mitt Romney, and he wants Ahmadinejad arrested if he comes to New York.
