This week's bonus questions are these.

1. Which would you choose?
a. Leading 20 people from a burning building after a terrorist attack, or
b. Forcibly preventing terrorists from setting fire to the building even if the force you use is lethal or nearly lethal force.

2. You get to spend a week on a "dream vacation." Would you rather
a. Spend the week in the penthouse suite at a luxury hotel in the big city of your choice, or
b. Spend the week in a beautiful house on a mountain with a view of mountains in every direction?

3. Besides making and receiving calls, what features of your cell phone do you actually use?

As always, we want to hear why you'd choose the choices you'd make if you'd like to share your reasons.

Bill

Well I'm no investments whiz by any means. Lost much shifting out of mutuals to stock options under the bad advice of a broker when the last really bad crash happened ... so I'll contain my comments to the second bunch of questions and kill terrorists instead ...

1. Which would you choose? a. Leading 20 people from a burning building after a terrorist attack, or b. Forcibly preventing terrorists from setting fire to the building even if the force you use is lethal or nearly lethal force. 2. You get to spend a week on a "dream vacation." Would you rather a. Besides making and receiving calls, what features of your cell phone do you actually use?

In #1: I'd choose slaughtering the terrorists ... I'm not into taser guns as weapons or plastic bullets. If someone is threatening the lives of innocents, away they go, no hesitation. buh-bye.

In #2: Definitely the penthouse! I've had my fill of roughing it at campsites and if I'm on vacation, somebody else is doing the cooking! UNLESS ... if the cabin in the mountains consists of a full staff to do all the cooking to order? I'd prefer the cabin ... and the fresh air and the wildlife and my best camera!

#3: None. I receive calls. I take calls. LOL I don't get real technical with my cell phone. Only JUST upgraded from the same cell phone I've had for five years and only because I lost that one somewhere along the way and had to. And no it doesn't have a camera. I'm too cheap. LOL

My Answer to Number 1 would be terminating the terrorists with lethal force, thats why I have a CPL....

As for question 2, I'd rather spend the vacation in some unobscure little resort in the caribbean with access to complete native menus (been there, done that and want to return to Honduras)

and 3, I think that I'm the last person on this planet that doesn't have a cell phone.......

I get very few phone calls at home on my land line so there is no need to be available anywhere else.........Leave me a message and I will call you when it is convenient.

1 B And then A would not be necessary. I guess my sheepdog friend has rubbed off on me, or maybe i have a little sheepdog in me too.

2 B I’m just more into a romantic retreat in the mountains than I am into luxury penthouses.

3. I answer it and make calls, that’s all I want the darn little intrusion for!

I like permanent solutions.

b. Spend the week in a beautiful house on a mountain with a view of mountains in every direction?

cuz I’m not a big city type.

3. Besides making and receiving calls, what features of your cell phone do you actually use?

Internet, text, voicemail, email, etc.

Good morning Bill! I came in fairly fatigued from the football game last night &did minimal posting prior to crashing. Good topic & one you presented well.

I in marriage just relegated the savings part to my spouse .. it is a very long story but at this point there is nothing for me. I trusted when I should have been cautious.

I think each high school senior before graduating should have an intense class in this... but ah youth. At 16 or 17 retirement, death, are as remote as Jupiter.

I guess I would be the rescuer in the terrorist attack not the assault preventer. I love watching the movies where woman are skilled & can see my self in the roles in the fantasy part of life(kill Bill etc) but the reality is that I think the other is where I would be.

I actually thrive in the remote areas with few people around so would chose the mountain vacation spot.. BUT on occasion I do like the big city & if have the $$ to do it well, always have a good time.

I dont do much with my cell phone but (DONT LAUGH) do use it to check time as I frequently do NOT have a watch on.

Finance and investing whilst the principle remains the same - saving for the future, the way it is done and the rule and regulations are very different from the little I have picked up between our 2 countries.

Due to family circumstances saving is not something that I have been able to much of and certainly not at present. I do have an ISA which up to a certainly amount each year you are allowed in the UK to take out tax free.

ISA = Individual saving account and you can choose what those are made up from eg small business, overseas investment etc. When you decide to take one out the company you go through will give you a booklet of various choices. Of course a lot of this depends on the stock-market what your return will be.

I also have a deposit account which I put a set amount into each month but apart from that due to financial circumstance the rest of my income is used up.

One thing I am glad is that when I joined my company I opted to join the pension scheme straight away. It got me used to have 6 per cent of salary straight away. The choice I got was to go onto a full adult salary straight away and join the pension scheme or wait 6 or 7 months until I was 21 and then join the scheme and go on full wage. At that time companies in Britain could force you to join the pension scheme nowadays it is by law your choice.

Due to law changes and amounts of money that company now have to guarantee is in the pension fund after companies schemes collapsing my pension has changed somewhat but from the small amount of investigating I have done it is still the best way of saving for a pension that I could afford because doing it this way the company contributes as well as me.

I think the first question is one at least for me that I would have to say unless I faced with situation I am not sure how I would react or choose the first option sounds the one that fits me best.

The second question I think I would choose the mountain retreat or maybe a luxury villa on the beach. I have always stayed in apartments or hotel rooms so a villa sounds a great idea. Not swimming I would not mind if it had a pool or not but I suspect those that I was holidaying with would insist on one. I have found it often much more expensive to get accommodation with a pool than without though most travel companies negotiate the use of a pool at local hotels or apartments if your one does not have one at no extra cost.

Now the cell phone or what we call a mobile phone in Britain.

I have several, my main 2 are old technology and all my are pay as you I do not have any monthly contracts.

I have a Siemens A55 and a MC60, also an Ericsson's K500i which does have a reasonable camera but I rather take this phone out of the house as it looks more expensive than it is and is in fact a second hand replacement for the original one I had that was stolen so because it looks more expensive I just use it indoors as an alarm clock - crazy I know - it does not even have a current sim card in it.

The MC60 has a very basic camera which I never use and bought the phone second hand on ebay for about 20 dollars. The A55 also bought second hand on ebay for about 15 dollars and has no camera.

The MC60

I mainly use mine for receiving calls so that dad can keep in touch with me when I am out. I make the occasional call and text (I used to text GretchenM - God rest her soul)

Just skipping to the bonus question, WHERE I spent my dream vacation is nearly as irrelevant as whom I spend it with.
