YE OLDE PING!
Interesting.
Don’t knock Renaissance Festival folks. My wife and I also held a period wedding, early southern redneck - bbq and dancing! (funny, I don’t feel redneck, but going down the checklist, I do seem to fill in a lot of X’s. Guess there is something to be said to being married early in life - the longer you wait, the greater the cost from what I’ve witnessed.)
Verily, thou couldst have been a maiden in waiting therein.
Zounds!
What a lucky couple!
I wonder if the realism extended to cooties and unwashed pits.
Aye,my young lass! You wilst wear yonder chastity belt while I sally forth to labor at the insurance agency, for I will not have you being buxom in bed with any of the local knaves!
Wicked cool suit of armor.

Thanks Lorianne.a dress made from 270 feet of silk. And waiting for her was her knight in shining armour - £10,000 of hand-forged steel trimmed with brass and velvet.Rich SCA geeks! ;') The "bonny and buxom in bed" phrase should be heard more often in wedding vows though. |

I’m sure this has been done in the last 50 years.
We’ve known of Civil War weddings, and I personally witnessed at my 1st reenactment event of a RevWar battle - 1st thing we walked into, a marriage of a Redcoat and his camp-follower lady.
Have you seen this?
:-)
well, judging by the picture, she DEFINATELY has the buxom part down. Thems some bodacious tatas.
Mr Hammerton-Fraser, 40, went out with his squire and ring bearer...but he was drunk at the time, plus it was like years ago.

I’m sorry, but that just kicks ass.
Looks like beauty and the beast!
Very cool.
Some 30 years ago and more I was moderately active in the Society for Creative Anachronism in California, and it was great fun - though I think many people took it a bit too seriously, rather like this wedding, which is, after all, rather over the top... I was even a groomsman at two SCA Weddings in full regalia -- in both cases the couple was able to persuade the priest to do a Latin Mass in full kit.
