Racy Burger Ad Leaves Teachers Furious
Fox News ^ | September 9, 2007

A fast food chain’s racy new advertising campaign has left at least one teacher’s organization demanding it be pulled.

The ad for St. Louis, Missouri-based Hardee’s Corporation features a sexy teacher, making provocative moves in front of the class while two students rap to a song called "Flat Buns,” according to a report on myFOXstl.com.

"How irresponsible can you get?” said the Tennessee Education Association in a statement on their website. ”At this very moment, there are female teachers in high school classrooms with 30+ students who are working hard to teach our children so that they can compete in today's world. It is unbelievably demeaning to every one of them to promote a television advertisement showing a young teacher gyrating on top of her desk while boys in the class rap about her body in order to sell hamburgers!"

Hardee’s claims the ad is obviously a spoof, pointing out that the target demographic for the ad is young men who find this type of ad campaign appealing.

The fast-food chain courted controversy before with a provocative hamburger ad featuring Paris Hilton.

I’m a woman and NEA and NOW don’t speak for me. I’m not offended by this. Except maybe by the fact that they don’t use enough brunettes. We have fun too. Shattering stereotypes and all that.

Maybe they should lighten up. I wonder if they got their panties in such a wad over “Hot for Teacher” by Van Halen.

Hey, teachers, the commercial is shown after 10 p.m. Geez.

Last time I ate at Hardees was 1986. That patty melt looks good.

I never would have heard of it if the agenda afflicted teachers hadn’t opened their mouth. I’m going to try it tomorrow.

I guess I should thank them at lunch if it’s good.

Id’ve thrown her under the jailhouse for at least 10 years. By the time she got out, she’d be too much of a hag to do any more damage.

Did the grown woman/actress sign up to act in the commercial or not. ?

Did the company ask her to perform an act which would be considered blatant sexual harassment if it were asked of any other employee of the company?

Is this "sexual harassment" or not?

Was this woman subjected to an objective "hostile work environment" during the filming of this commercial?

A simple yes or no answer will suffice.

See my post #59. I still think Miss Chemistry was much hotter than Miss Phys Ed in the Van Halen video.

She is not an employee of the company. (see, I can answer a leading question and still make the point). She is an actress who got paid a lot of money and was competing with 459 other women who wanted the job that you claim is so horrible that nobody would want it.

I'll give you a dollar...go buy a clue.

Yeah, that hamburger commerical must have really touched a nerve. Imagine someone acting as if a teacher might do some improper with students? How dare they!!!

Here on the West Coast, the commercial is for Carl's Jr., and the parts in which the teacher gets up on the desk is NOT included. I hadn't seen that part until I went to the link to the Hardee's site.

Strange that such protestations should come out of the state of Tennessee, home of Pamela Rogers-Turner, the teacher that sent the world-infamous cell-phone video to the student she statutorily raped, violating the terms of her parole. That video is infinitely worse than the Hardee's/Carl's Jr. spot; at least the TV teacher is FULLY clothed.

Early on, I did see the teacher on the desk, but I wasn’t paying close enough attention to note if the dialogue was the same. In the video you linked, it seemed a little more racey than I had remembered. I think the version they play now is the cut-down version.

Thanks for the link.

Who is that? She’s absolutely beautiful. And I totally agree with her sign. I would have opted for different shorts, though.

Teachers angry? Heck for a minute there I thought someone had mistakenly taught their students English or Math.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

It is amazing!

The very same teachers who claim to be sooooo powerless in the face of worthless reading and math programs, homosexual indoctrination, slovenly and disrespectful students, etc, are the same teachers who can organize bus loads of students to attend Marxist political rallies, or gather enough signatures to put vouchers on the ballot.

In this case they are well enough organized to protest a commercial.

Yes that powerless thing comes up from time to time. I’ve never quite bought it.

Just a girl. Nobody famous.

Very easy on the eyes, though.

Wait a minute . . .

Just checked your profile. That’s you, isn’t it?

I guess that makes me your huckleberry.

I’d still opt for different shorts, though. Something in a shooter khaki, perhaps.

That commercial is hysterical, at least for those of us who remember the Sir Mix A Lot video it’s parodizing.
