Kathy Griffin's Bravo series "My Life on the D-List" won the Emmy for "Best Reality Program (non-competition).
Her speech was memorable, in which she refused to thank Jesus.
"A lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this. He had nothing to do with this," Griffin said. "Suck it, Jesus. This award is my God now."
The comic has won that Emmy shes long coveted.
And indeed, what a day that will be!
May God have mercy on her sinful soul, and may this girl come to her senses, be brought low if necessary, and may her stubborn spirit be broken, if necessary, for her to come to accept the Truth someday.
That is our work; to pray for those who haven't been honored by the Holy Spirit, and help them to an understanding. May they be given the Spirit that they too shall become worthy.
Kathy who?
I never could stand her.
Kathy might be an entertainer.(I don't know first hand.)
Idolatry ping ... I’ve never seen it quite so blatant before.
Oh, don’t lecture me. I think you need your morning coffee if you didn’t discern from my jesting post that I know perfectly well that idolatry is broader than the worship of actual idols. On the other hand, I think your stress on ‘authority’ understates the baleful effects of replacing God with anything else.
Friend, how would she know I was boycotting her? I don't watch her crap-tastic show. I've seen 1 of her stand up shows and she was just unfunny and sad. She can say what she likes. I don't have to agree. She isn't funny and since her job is to make people laugh, she isn't very good at her job.
Keep in mind, her whole act is how low on the show business ladder she actually is. How much lower could we take her?
Her act is primarily aimed at gay men and bitter women - a demographic that must be hurting for entertainment since Margaret Cho hasn't put out anything new in a few years. Griffin wants attention. No way in hell will I give it to her.
Your misunderstanding is common. God will give her what she wants ... She's freely chosen to reject Him. If she dies in that condition, she's going to get exactly what she asked for: Eternity separated from all Goodness.
Be careful what you ask for.
You might get it.
Gratuitous attacks on Christians is all the rage with the Hollywood elites Ms Griffith so desperately wants to be accepted by.
Just like the Dixie Chicks, she doesn’t realize that will never happen. She can play to them all she wants, but at the end of the day they snicker at her, just like they do Natalie Maines.
“The last time I posted this picture under ugly, some Freepers chewed me out for it. I still say this dog is ugly.”
Not only is she (kathy) ugly, but this dog won’t even hunt!
I always thought she was funny despite being somewhat of a b****, now I will never watch anything with her in it again.
Same here.
I didn’t suggest you were judging me (nor think it). I told you not to lecture me—it is tedious to be told things one knows, especially as a response to a statement that makes fairly clear that you do indeed know them.
And next week...I won't remember her name either. Heck, might be tonight....lol
Hmmm... Notice that she isn’t afraid of assassination or any consequences for saying this. There is no “Christian fatwa” against her ( not even from the Pope ).
I’d be curious to know if she has the courage to say : “suck it Allah”...
The result will show you which one is the true religion of peace.
Griffin is an annoying, no-talent skank. But hse’s right Jesus had nothing to do with her award; I’m sure he’d have better taste.
"Isn't that special" ................. Not!
Which is the perfect lead-in for a bit of Monday morning poetry...
"Ship me somewheres east of Suez, where the best is like the worst,
Where there ain't no Ten Commandments an' a man can raise a thirst;
For the temple-bells are callin', and it's there that I would be--
By the old Moulmein Pagoda, looking lazy at the sea;
On the road to Mandalay,
Where the old Flotilla lay,
With our sick beneath the awnings when we went to Mandalay!
O the road to Mandalay,
Where the flyin'-fishes play,
An' the dawn comes up like thunder outer China 'crost the Bay!"
--R. Kipling.
Your misunderstanding is common. God will give her what she wants ... She's freely chosen to reject Him. If she dies in that condition, she's going to get exactly what she asked for: Eternity separated from all Goodness. Be careful what you ask for. You might get it.
But I don't think she's asking for eternity separated from all goodness. She's speaking foolishly, but from her point of view, I'm sure she imagines herself to be honest, not dogmatic or bigoted, etc. In short, she's doing what she thinks is right from where she sits. She's hardly requesting eternal torture in return for the thrill of worshipping a golden statue.
Is she wrong to speak this way? Yes. But I think Almighty God will take her into Him in due time, when her soul is ready for Him.
