Life partner of prime minister's lesbian daughter gives birth to a baby girl

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and his wife Aliza welcomed their newest grandchild on Thursday, as their daughter's partner gave birth to a baby girl.
The prime minister's 34-year-old daughter Dana is a self-identified lesbian who lives with her life partner Dafna Ben Zvi.
Thursday night, Ben Zvi gave birth to a baby girl, which the couple decided to name Amalya.
Amalya is the couple's first child, and the prime minister's eighth grandchild, with Olmert's oldest daughter Michal giving birth just five months ago.
The Olmert-Ben Zvi couple has an excellent relationship with the prime minister and his wife and arrive at all family gatherings.
Dana Olmert is a researcher, a critic, an editor of literature, a left-wing activist and a gay rights activists, and has participated in pride parades in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv in the past.

So was this an immaculate conception? There’s a biological father (sperm donor) somewhere in this picture.
I feel very sorry for this child born to such a messed-up, dysfunctional family.
I didn’t read the whole article, but if Olmert’s daughter had had an in-vitro fertilisation done, and then the embryo implanted into her partner’s womb, the DNA could have “replicated”.
I could never understand why someone who is gay has a desire to procreate. If homosexuality is a natural state, and it is not possible to procreate as a homosexual, why would they have a desire to procreate? Wouldn’t their natural state be to not desire children?

I’m not sure what so newsworthy about this. I think I’d rather these “blessed events” just not get so much press.
A parent’s guidance and influence goes just so far. I remember how shocked I was to see that my kids were not little clones of me! Imagine two conservative republicans, one of them a FReeper, spawned one left-leaning off-spring (20) and two that just aren’t interested at all (19 & 16).

As I have always said, homosexuality is genetic. If your parents were homosexual, probably you will be homosexual.

A lot of lesbians have had children the old fashioned way, before they became enlightened about the fact that they were really gay.
Some gay organizations want to make a political statement. Along with lawsuits about gay marriage, some have filed lawsuits about gay adoption too.
Anyway, you ask good questions, questions that the gay activists would not want to answer.
Those questions lead me to believe that homosexuality is a choice. They must chose a lifestyle that conflicts with their natural desire to have children. That is the only explanation that I can come up with.
That said, I could care less what consenting adults do behind closed doors.

In this case, PM Olmert is no relation to the child, unlike Vice President Cheney.
