Aw man. I was so jealous of the Vikes when I was a kid. They always went to the playoffs and the Bears always stunk. They had the purple-people eaters and Fran Tarkington. The Bears had the first Micheal Vick- Bobby Douglas.

The Vikes will be back. All teams go through ups and downs.

I have LT on my fantasy league teams too. I may be a Bears' fan, but I'm not stupid. :)

Well, the worm has turned. I don’t see anybody in our division getting in your way this season for sure!

Douglass was always a handful to play against but as I recall the Bears didn’t have much of a supporting cast. I go back to 1970 as a Viking fan so I grew up watching Bud Grant’s teams having their way with the division. And somehow I don’t think Douglass would have any of Vick’s worries to date!

I think a lot of people would agree with that. My personal expectations for the Vikings season have never been lower in my lifetime. Which is sad, come to think of it.

Are they that bad?? Well the reason why I say next year is going to be different is due to the fact that I think the Bears offensive line is going to be different... Also I hope that Brett retires.

Anyone know why the quarterbacks have the round green stickers on the back their helmets? I have noticed it this year in every game on quarterbacks only.

Decent time consuming drive by the Saints but they really needed to come away with some points there. I think they went to the draw once too often.

It’s to indicate to the refs which player has the microphone in his helmet because only one is allowed on the field at a time.

They could be worse, actually. No one knows if Jackson is any kind of a quarterback, the team made no significant moves to upgrade the offense through free agency (though Peterson looks like he might someday be a good feature back) and we have no receivers of note. Defense looks good but we learned last year it couldn’t work miracles.

A substantial portion of the fan base doesn’t trust Brad Childress and the home opener isn’t sold out yet so the game could be blacked out on local television.

Whether or not Favre retires, I just hope he doesn’t string along the national media for 3-4 months after the season like he seems to every year.
