Tough break this year for the Yucatan peninsula (vanity)

If the track does not change, it looks like TS Felix will be a Cat 3 (or better) storm when it hits the Yucatan peninsula probably sometime late Wednesday. I'm just glad they are staying away from the Gulf Coast.

I have this nagging feeling that another CAT 4/5 strike on New Orleans would be for the best. It would likely spell the end to rebuilding efforts that are doomed to be re-flooded in the future anyway.

A little ironic that a hurricane named Felix is going to slam into Mexico, isn’t it? If we get up to the P’s (God forbid!) we should name it Pedro or Paco.

Also of the opinion that New Orleans should not be rebuilt (at least for the most part; rebuilding a New Orleans version of ‘Colonial Williamsburg’ there could be done for a historical memorial).
