Pink said to me recently, we've come a long way. So that set me reminiscing...
Who among us can forget that day in January when Girlene asked to be added to the Haditha Marine Ping List?
Or when lilycicero wondered what "ping" and "BTTT" meant (but hoped they were crude)?
Or when pinkpanther111 showed up and helped us find biographical material, or when she spread the word about the defense fund here and here?
All that got me thinking about some of our "firsts".
Like the first defense fund thread.
And the first posts by Darryl, Theresa (on our totally fun "A Haditha Marine Father Has a Question for Alan Colmes" thread), and Mrs W.
So I agree with pink (want to see her first post ever?), we have come a long way. And it's about time we said so! Also, with the SSgt Wuterich hearing coming up, I figured we could use a thread to just hang out when nothing else is happening. It beats FRmail--which sometimes gets a little hard to follow.
So here's to us and to seeing an end to this job we started!
You’re not lost. This is the Green Room. Seems like folks are taking a nap about now.
Hey Smooth,
Bring that chip on your shoulder and come to the party.
What an neat idea!!!
I forgot about that post.. A friend posted a thread on my very first blog entry at townhall for 9/11 victims. I drew Leonard Hatton.. Former Marine, FBI agent and in his spare time also a volunteer firefighter. (THAT’S A HERO!) He was there pulling people out when tower 2 collapse and was killed. That was my first introduction to free republic. that blogentry is of course.. pinkpanther.townhall.com.
Going to read the rest of the thread before I add other firsts..
After wading through the sputum that the NYT laid on, I think I deserve a nap!
Boy are they PO’d or what? How come the Rabid Left always buys into the persecutors charges against (what they perceive to be) someone from the Right — Duke Lacrosse Team, Republican legislators, ‘Right-wing’ Lobbyists — but vehemently deride those same folks when it’s one of their “Icons” in the crosshairs?
YES PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am sick of this selling business.
This thread has been going on for three days!!! where was I???
I don’t know...where were you? Feeding the chicks?
Watering the lawn? Took a wrong turn and finally made a full circle?
No matter....You are here now and it’s a holding tank of nonsense and random thoughts.
Did you enjoy all the snacks?
Yup, and thankee many muches.
Beer and pretzels. A man can live on that for ... well until the need for a steak and tater kicks in.
There's a sandwich in every can!
Beer was an old timey answer to bread that wouldn’t keep.
I thought this might have been their surprise. :)
LOL! SURPRISE!
You kept that a secret all day.
Finally spoke to Nat back at his hotel. He was in the hearing room today with about 17 other reporters. Tomorrow, they’ll be in the media center so he can e-mail and phone as the hearing is in progress.
He’ll send us a story tomorrow morning so I’m putting these notes here in the Green Room for now.
The prosecution and defense are stipulating everything already introduced as evidence that doesnt directly effect the Wuterich case. Ware has said he only wants to cover new ground.
Monday will be a holiday. If they work Saturday and Sunday, the hearing may end Tuesday. Otherwise, it’ll end Wednesday.
There was a two hour break today because Ware had to go to a range to qualify on a pistol.
There were only two witnesses today. Mendoza and a Capt. Kathryn Naven (I may have that spelling wrong), a JAG who taught ROE to Kilo Co. before Haditha. Ware questioned her for about an hour.
Nat didn’t think Mendoza made a credible impression, and NOBODY can explain ROE without contradicting themselves and generally sounding like an ass.
That’s it for now. There were other media reports in the meantime but, as mentioned, we’ll have a full report from Nat tomorrow.
Well done sir.
