You kept that a secret all day.
Finally spoke to Nat back at his hotel. He was in the hearing room today with about 17 other reporters. Tomorrow, they’ll be in the media center so he can e-mail and phone as the hearing is in progress.
He’ll send us a story tomorrow morning so I’m putting these notes here in the Green Room for now.
The prosecution and defense are stipulating everything already introduced as evidence that doesn’t directly effect the Wuterich case. Ware has said he only wants to cover new ground.
Monday will be a holiday. If they work Saturday and Sunday, the hearing may end Tuesday. Otherwise, it’ll end Wednesday.
There was a two hour break today because Ware had to go to a range to qualify on a pistol.
There were only two witnesses today. Mendoza and a Capt. Kathryn Naven (I may have that spelling wrong), a JAG who taught ROE to Kilo Co. before Haditha. Ware questioned her for about an hour.
Nat didn’t think Mendoza made a credible impression, and NOBODY can explain ROE without contradicting themselves and generally sounding like an ass.
