Bush doesn't deny plans for N. American Union (more tinfoil)

MONTEBELLO, Quebec – President Bush today sidestepped a direct question about whether he'd be willing to categorically deny there is a plan to create the North American Union.

Instead, he ridiculed those who believe that is taking place as conspiracy theorists.

The exchange came at a news conference held by Bush, Mexico's President Felipe Calderon, and Canada's Prime Minister Stephen Harper, who met at a resort in the rural woods outside of Ottawa, Quebec, to discuss their latest work on the Security and Prosperity Partnership.

After the trio presented their prepared statement about the SPP, several reporters who had been selected in advance were allowed to ask questions.

When it came time for a question from a Fox News reporter, Bush was asked if he would be willing to categorically deny that there is a plan to create a North American Union, or that there are plans to create NAFTA Superhighways.

"As you three leaders meet here, there are a growing number of people in each of your countries who have expressed concern about the Security and Prosperity Partnership. This is addressed to all three of you. Can you say today that this is not a prelude to a North American Union, similar to a European Union? Are there plans to build some kind of superhighway connecting all three countries? And do you believe all of these theories about a possible erosion of national identity stem from a lack of transparency from this partnership?" was the question, according to a White House transcript.

Reporters at the news conference said he sidestepped, instead adopting the tactic that those who are arguing the European Union model of integrating nations into a larger continental union is being used in North America should be ridiculed.

sure.

Here’s the given...many of you will never give up on this “Bush sold us all to Mexico” tripe...so...as the parrot goes “ACKKKKKK illegal immigration....ACKKKK illegal immigration”, which means any rational debate is pointless.

It’s just amusing to read the posts.

So...you really think it is plausible that the POTUS/CINC is selling US Sovereignty down the river in a “star chamber” like fashion with the heads of state of Mexico and Canada. That he’s plotting to trash the constitution and sell out US citizens for some nebulous gain of what? Exactly?

If so...there’s a bridge...you see...in Brooklyn...you can have it for small fee...it will be yours to charge tolls on and make...big, big, huge fortune.

That’s a good reminder of why I won’t be voting for the lesser of two evils this time around.

Now we know you've lost it...you are posting to yourself, LOL!

And FYI, just because we doesn't believe in your silly conspiracy theories doesn't make us pro-illegal, for open borders or Bushbots. You are only making yourself look more foolish by posting such crap.

The real conspiracy is the goverment is confusing people about tin foil and aluminum foil. Many people are using aluminum instead of tin and they aren’t really protected.

in hoc signo vinces - Again, you are SO right. When those tinfoil wearing loonies start trying to say that there has been a history of the government doing things under our noses and behind our backs I simply blow them off with a good wave of my hand. EVERYTHING that the government does is for the good of the nation. It’s pure fact! To question anything that any single person in the government has done is just stupid. I say, the bigger the government the better. I honestly wish that they would do away with term limits so Bush could stay president for as long as possible. I think he would be nothing short of a miracle for this country. In his short time as president so far he has done nothing but great things.

The lines are getting blurred between the ones who break the law and the ones who are immigratiing legally. I think the mass majority of Freepers will back a orderly immigration policy. Frankly, I think our current laws are adequate but only need strong and willing enforcement. Simple fix if you think about it.

HA, ha! Great stuff. I couldn’t agree more. It is just plain ignorant to question anything that the government does or even better yet, it’s totally retarded to even think about questioning anything Bush does.

I think she is on a soap box letting it all out. I do think it is comical to post to oneself. Talking to yourself will get you institutionalized.

Not really. But I don’t equate Bush’s failure to control illegals to some super-secret merger of Canada, Mexico, and the US, either.
//////////////
alas, I used to work at the HQ in the Ronald Reagan bldg in downtown washington DC for US Customs & Border Patrol. It was pretty common knowledge there that the USA could control the southern border in a heartbeat. But the orders were explicit from the white house — not to control the borders.

The pentagon is in arlington county. That county is now barely majority white. It will go majority non white in a couple years. Most of that is hispanic and much of that is illegal.

NAU development is modeled after the way the EU developed. The EU was done bureaucratically stealthily and incrementally over decades.

Geee you are so right...man...I love it when people resort to attacking the messenger, it’s the most constructively brilliant arguement in the history of making arguements and/or perpetuating rational debate.

You sir, are oh so...right...I bet you didnt know about my W doll either? I keep waiting for Santa to bring me the Cheney one...

As I stated in a prior post...one can disagree with an issue (in regard to Bush) but as for the totality of what Bush has done as POTUS, he’s done lots of good.

Again, “Sweeping Generalizations” the rhetoricle device you’ve badly used...just panders to the lack of rational debate with the single “illegal immigration” issue crowd.

Congrats...

If they didn’t sneak around like cowards the conspiracy theorists would be proven wrong.

Exactly.

I live in Howard County, MD. I see a fair number of probable illegals as lawn and construction crews. Go down to MontCo or PG County and they’re much more widespread.

“Not really. But I don’t equate Bush’s failure to control illegals to some super-secret merger of Canada, Mexico, and the US, either.”

Let me jump on this real quick......let’s see if I can get the right verbage:

ckilmer - You are such a tinfoil hat wearer. The White House takes orders from no one. The borders are in perfect order. Always have been and always will be. How dare you question the government’s motives.

ravingnutter , in hoc signo vinces - was that being a good Bush Desciple?

I am still waiting for you to make your first rational point.

But, I’ll make my own observation here... you need help, a local hotline, perhaps a medical intervention...that might work for you.

Get well soon,

Who is this “single immigration issue” crowd I keep hearing about? Last time I checked there are a few issues out there that most true conservatives are worried about: Terrorism, Abortion, Gun Rights, Capitol Punishment. I am SOOOOOOOO glad that you can label anyone that questions Bush as a “one issue” person. You see, I hardily believe that there are those that are Republicans and those that are Conservatives. They are NOT one in the same. I don’t take any threat to my sovereignty lightly whether it’s a hair-brained idea or not. If you’re blowing the NAU off totally as nothing more than a hardcore rightwing conspiracy you must be totally ignorant about the government we have. To say that something like the NAU is preposterous and could never happen is just being totally ignorant.

Questioning what the Govt. or the President does is fine if there is something to be concerned about. I just don't believe this conspiracy theory she is promoting warrants that concern. I have already given them the benefit of the doubt, checked out links they have provided and they do not make the connection that these folks say they do. Most of this emanates from Jerome Corsi, who seems to be running around with his hair on fire over the issue.

That being said, I am assuming you are being sarcastic in your response. If so, I will point out that the statement “You are only making yourself look more foolish by posting such crap.” was in response to her calling anyone who doesn't agree with her "pro-illegal, for open borders or Bushbots". It was even in a totally separate paragraph, which normally means the context has changed. Better secure that tin foil hat a little better, the radio waves are affecting your reading comprehension, LOL!
