RICHMOND, Va. -- Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick accepted a plea deal Monday to avoid additional federal charges in a dogfighting case and now faces a likely lengthy prison sentence.
"After consulting with his family over the weekend, Michael Vick has asked that I announce today that he has reached an agreement with federal prosecutors regarding charges pending against him," Billy Martin, one of Vick's attorneys, said in a statement.
"Mr. Vick has agreed to enter a plea of guilty to those charges and to accept full responsibility for his actions and the mistakes he has made. Michael wishes to apologize again to everyone who has been hurt by this matter.
The terms of Vick's prison term are not yet known.
Somebody call the NAACP.
Just saw that...
The phone rang before I finished posting and by the time send was hit it was up.
Sadly the mods already exiled this to chat once....
I thought it was breaking news too...

Ahhh, the “Dog Days” of summer have finally arrived for young Mr. Vick. Too bad his momma never taught him to be responsible for his actions, and now he has to pay a really big price for his stupidity. I hope the NFL bans him for life too!
We have a high profile black athlete making huge money in the NFL and through commercial endorsements just copping a plea to engaging in less than human behavior. Huge ripple in society and business...
nothing to see here...
I wish the man would stop targeting high profile young black men.
And likely a billion dollar economic impact....
Obviously not news. :)
Seriously though, I would not want to be a mod here and deal with 100 copies of breaking stories. But I do think an error was made on this one.
this should be in Breeaking News!
Proverbs 12:10
A righteous man cares for the needs of his animal, but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel.
Can’t they find any white guys to give speeding tickets to? Such focus on a clean cut black guy is alarming.
Check out this link. Be forwarned it is NOT a pretty site.

While not neccessarily one of Vick’s dogs, it does represent what must have been the fate of some of them.
He has pleaded guilty of the federal level. How about the charges against him on the state/county level?
Generally they don’t double dip but will charge at the other level if they cannot get you.
He’s ruined.
