Duane "Dog" Chapman is upset a $300,000 federal bond remains in place even though a Mexican judge has dismissed charges against him.
The TV bounty hunter posted the bond and was freed after being arrested last September as he fought extradition to Mexico.
He had been charged under Mexican law with "deprivation of liberty" for his 2003 capture of a fugitive convicted rapist in Mexico.
Mexican Judge Jose Alberto Montes dismissed the charges last month, ruling the statute of limitations had expired.

I think what happened was Mexico dropped the case without
informing the US Attorney......so the U S Attorney got
caught with his pants down, and is trying to buy time : )

I'm not open minded about a lot of things. Some things are simply unworthy of approval or acceptance. But is a fashion violation a federal felony that would require posting bond?
To: stephenjohnbanker
This US Attorney and friends are now going to get lots of media exposure and mail soon.
Curious on why the need for such a high bond now ?

At this point I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that Americans could be sent to prisons in mexico for crimes committed here.
The slope is slippery and steepening all the time.

And this guy needs to clean himself up. I'm more offended by his theatric little prayer followed normally by a string of profane words...and yes, his wardrobe could use a little updating.

If I were a cop on my beat and saw Dog walking down the street in my town Id find some reason to arrest him.Thank goodness you aren't a cop.

Mexico dropped the charges. Perhaps there are other outstanding charges...perhaps violation of international laws or treaties.

It seems our Justice department is in the tank for Mexico if their nationals break our law we won’t prosecute,if our law enforcement personnel enforce the law they are prosecuted,if you break Mexican law the U.S. Government will help prosecute you never mind that Mexico will do nothing against any fugitive who makes it back home after committing any heinous crime.
We need to really push for people who will put America first it an “R” after a name is no longer enough.

Actually, the full article says:
Prosecutors have appealed the decision. If the statute of limitations has run out, I don't see them winning an appeal.

Nonsense. You would run like a little girl in the opposite direction because you know instinctively that cop or not, Duane 'Dog' Chapman could beat your ass like a redheaded stepchild.

And some cops will also go out of their way to cause problems for persons who are legally armed. Is that also your idea of good police work?
