What has caused you to come to this feeling/conclusion? Direct experience?

Being a Hawkeye fan and getting our butts kicked everytime we went up against the Buckeyes turned me into a bitter man I guess ;)

It gets kinda over the top around here during football season. We don't have a pro football team (who needs one - we've got the Buckeyes), and it's become essentially civil religion.

Some of the fans can get obnoxious. They are exceptions to the rule.
